Promoting culture and the creative arts - International meetings of the Forum...EY
EY and the Forum d’Avignon have been working jointly to bring these spheres together since 2008, developing ways for the artistic and creative industries to respond to the critical issues that confront them. EY’s widely-recognized expertise and experience in the sector provides major lessons and concrete solutions to the industry’s challenges. Year after year, the Forum d’Avignon and EY have observed and interpreted the forces at work in the cultural field as it is swept by a digital revolution that has redistributed power amidst an ever-changing fiscal landscape.

Media Life is a course intended for undergraduate students across campus. Its goal is to make people aware of the role that media play in their everyday life. The key to understanding a "media life" is to see our lives not as lived WITH media (which would lead to a focus on media effects and media-centric theories of society), but rather IN media (where the distinction between what we do with and without media dissolves).
Innovation and differentiation of NokiaMasum Hussain
Nokia’s market share in the European smartphone market has shown a huge decline in the past couple of years. The problem began with the introduction of the Iphone in 2007, which set a new trend in the market. In order to return to the market leadership position, Nokia entered into partnership with Microsoft. Threatened by the rapid lost of market share to rivals, Nokia created series of Smartphones called Nokia Lumia. Nokia bet on these products to regain its lost market share. However two years after the partnership, with 9 Lumia products out in the European market, the company has not achieved its goal.
This thesis looks at the marketing strategy that Nokia has chosen to implement for some of the Lumia devices. The thesis analyses products introduced within two years after the partnership. The approach seems reasonable due to the fast decline of market share for Nokia and the need of taking quick actions to reverse the situation. The analysis finds some evidence that the present situation of the company may be affected by wrong strategy implementation. The research begins by understanding the goals of the company in the smartphone market. From this analysis it becomes clear that one of the main objectives for Nokia is to regain its lost market share, and return to the leadership position in the Smartphone market. The company mainly counts on the partnership with Microsoft, and on its Lumia smartphones to achieve this goal. The analysis moves on to exploring the external and internal environment of the company. Nokia has its main strength in its brand and loyal customers, and it has opportunities in creating innovative ecosystem with Microsoft. The company main threat comes from the existing rivals in the industry.
Helen Smith concluded: "The aim of our Digital Action Plan is to inspire decision-makers, ensure Europe’s position as a global power, and re-engage Europe with its creators and citizens. Our aim is to set new standards to make Europe the best place in the world for artists and other creators and for culture enthusiasts.”

Anyingba - ICT and knowledge-based economy.pdfRasheed Adegoke
A presentation on the role of ICT in the Knowledge Economy. This was delivered to an academic gathering of computing students of the Prince Abubakar Audu (formerly, Kogi State) University.
It identifies the drivers of change in the knowledge society and knowledge economy. It also recommends actions needed by key stakeholders (government, academia and industry) to improve Nigeria's standing in the global knowledge economy.
Nigeria... Yes, it's big, ugly, dangerous, poor, too big, too hot, too rainy. And it's Africa's biggest country and economy, so the potential for startups and entrepreneurs is huge.
During our trip to Lagos to attend the Mobile West Africa 2014 conference, we listened to the speakers, met the key players of the local tech ecosystem, and were amazed, just like all the other emerging markets we explore, by the creativity, the will, and the startups we saw.
Take the trip with us to dive into Nigeria's startup scene. As usual, we love to look back in time to see what are the milestones explaining why the country is where it is today. Oddly enough, Nigeria has long been a very isolated country, with few exports else than natural resources.
Since Nollywood and the most creative movie industry of the continent, it's changing.
Despite the kilometric list of challenges the country is facing, a lot of spots and startups are to be discussed. Wecyclers, BudgIT are among the secret gems we discovered in Lagos, and for sure, there's more than that.
Few countries can boast having a third of its GDP stored as mobile money in the hands of a telecom group. There is no miracle in the rise of MPesa, but a deep understanding by Safaricom of the social fabric of East Africa’s tech and economic hub, as well as a lots of test and try. The lure of mobile money have lots of startups competing into this space, to connect remittances, shopping and payments to the MPesa infrastructure. Other than that, Kenya is also experiencing a double motion in its innovation ecosystem: if it’s definitely a community-driven startup hub, its government is also playing a key role through laws and pharaonic projects.

Unveiling the Secrets How Does Generative AI Work.pdfSam H
At its core, generative artificial intelligence relies on the concept of generative models, which serve as engines that churn out entirely new data resembling their training data. It is like a sculptor who has studied so many forms found in nature and then uses this knowledge to create sculptures from his imagination that have never been seen before anywhere else. If taken to cyberspace, gans work almost the same way.
