What is television advertising?
•It is the sending of promotional
messages or media content to one or more
potential program viewers.
•The viewers are influenced by the
messages which results in actions that
benefit the advertiser.
Advertisers
desire to provide
messages to people who
are interested in their
products or services.
Advertisers pay media
companies (such as
broadcasters) to send
their promotional
messages. Advertisers
coordinate the selection
of broadcasters and
transmission of their
promotional messages
using advertising
campaigns.
Broadcasters operate
systems that gather, orga
nize, and provide people
with content that they
want to see. The
broadcaster may
purchase license rights
for content they send
through their systems or
create new (original)
programming.
Viewers select
programs they want to
view and some of these
programs contain
promotional
messages which motivat
e some of them to take
actions that satisfy
advertiser’s business
objectives.
HORLICKS

children Taller, Sharper, Stronger
> Horlicks, which in India is fortified
with supplements and
vitamins, claims it "builds up
attention, concentration and makes
children stronger by making both the
brain and the body ready for exams".
Is HORLICKS advertisement true?
>Horlicks makes children
"taller, stronger, sharper," were rejected in
a ruling by the UK Advertising Standards
Authority.
>False advertisement that it makes brain
sharper, body ready for exams by research
team from UK.
Fair and Lovely
>Get fairness in next 7 days
with all wrinkles removed.
>Glowing skin
>Challenge that if any other
cream gives better fairness
than us we will give 5 crore.
Reality???
>New Delhi office of CBI claimed
that their ‘Clean Chit’ was more
effective than Fair & Lovely about
5 crore challenge.
>Several survey were also
conducted for its fairness
challenges of 7 days & it was false.
>Advertising is everywhere you look, whether it is in the
newspaper you pick up daily or on that billboard you see
while driving down the highway. Some people may say
that they are not in fact influenced by the advertising that
is thrown at them each day, and that they do not fall into
it, but everyone does. Many children are often the target
for most advertisers, because they know if they hound at
their parents enough they will give in and buy their
product, and everyone will be happy.
>Hence don’t get attracted towards advertisement.
