Este trabalho visa analisar as principais características da implementação e desagregação do sistema coletivo de organização social e produtiva no Assentamento Carlos Marighela, localizado em Santa Maria no Rio Grande do
Sul. O assentamento estudado foi formado entre os anos 1998/2002 no estado, junto ao programa para criação de assentamentos, denominado “Novo Modelo”. A partir disso, são analisados os elementos que influenciaram na organização coletiva dos assentados e as possíveis causas dos conflitos que levaram ao processo de desagregação do sistema coletivo de organização social e produtiva neste caso. Desse modo, este estudo analisa e problematiza os processos sociais e locais como trajetória social, condições de organização e infraestrutura, bem como as demais sociabilidades relativas ao assentamento, sendo esses fatores essenciais na elucidação das questões de pesquisa.
