The current crisis reveals the weaknesses of global manufacturing networks and their dependence on complex, widely dispersed, and vulnerable supply chains. In order to remain independent and able to act in crisis situations now and in the future, 3D printing is the ideal solution for self-sufficient and flexible production. In this context, new software tools help with the digital transformation of manufacturing. In order to meet the increasing requirements of additive manufacturing in terms of production accuracy and automated workflow the innovation company CoreTechnologie has taken its new 4D_Additive software to the next level.

With the proliferation of digital and mobile, we are leaving a trail of our personal movements and contributions across the digital ecosystem, constantly adding to a giant pile of information. This dynamic space brings us closer together – businesses and customers, users and brands, enterprises and staff, tearing down the remaining walls between us.
As information architects, we learned to understand these dynamics across channels and touchpoints, media and devices, supporting complex journeys with integrated systems. Often, our designs aim for at the meta level: in order to address the pervasive nature of information in complex ecosystems, we develop universal strategies designed to create links where and when they are needed.
This vast amount and unprecedented speed of information creation and exchange frames a key challenge for our businesses and clients: in order to design meaningful relationships and exchanges with their environment, they need to understand what to do with information that is either needed or available. While IT-centric approaches such as big data processing add useful capabilities, they fail to address core questions of use, meaning and value – questions that are at the heart of Information Architecture as a discipline.
We will present a design-led approach to “Big Information” modelling, leading to a connected and consistent view of knowledge and information needs from the ecosystem actors we address. Using semantic modelling techniques as applied in Business and Enterprise Architecture, we can develop views that trace through to the capabilities needed to act upon an information insight. Beyond the design of digital information spaces, such a model aligns the business around the experience.

Nail Polish Manufacturing Plant Project Report PPT 2021ChinkiTyagi
Increasing awareness about beauty trends, along with rising brand consciousness, represents one of the significant factors impelling the growth of the nail polish market. Besides this, the easy availability of nail polishes with unique finishing, such as glitter, magnetic, sequins and metallic, and a wide array of colors are positively boosting the overall sales. Other factors, such as the introduction of low-cost nail polishes, are strengthening the growth of the market. Additionally, the escalating demand for organic and natural nail polishes acts as another growth-inducing factor.

Announced earlier this year, the Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute (DMDII) is a Chicago-based manufacturing hub that will bring together public, educational and private interests to accelerate innovation and reduce development time and costs. Learn how all manufacturing will benefit from the research and development based at this digital lab.
In addition to industrial production, the success of Finnish industry is based strongly on the design and engineering of devices, working machines, manufacturing plants, power plants, process machinery and ships for global markets. At the same time, digitisation has become ever more vital to the success of industrial production and engineering and the volume, value and importance of the digital, virtual realm is increasing dramatically compared to physical plants and machines.
At the beginning of the 2010s traditional heavy industry accounted for 75% of the total value of Finnish exports, up notably from 57% in 2000. To reduce the design and production ramp-up times by half, VTT’s eEngineering spearhead programme (2009-2012) developed technology platforms for modelling and simulation, design knowledge management, life-cycle management, and human-technology interaction. The high- lights of the research carried out during the programme are presented in this publication.
The most significant achievement of the programme is Simantics, an extensive operating system providing an open, high-level application platform on which different computational tools can be easily integrated to form a common environment for modelling and simulation. Programme also enabled successful integration of user’s sound and noise experience and thermal comfort modelling to the design of machine cabins in a virtual design environment.
The Engineering & Construction (E&C) industry strongly
affects the economy, the environment and society as a
whole. It touches the daily lives of everyone, as quality of life
is heavily influenced by the built environment surrounding
people. The construction industry serves almost all other
industries, as all economic value creation occurs within or
by means of buildings or other “constructed assets”. As
an industry, moreover, it accounts for 6% of global GDP. It
is also the largest global consumer of raw materials, and
constructed objects account for 25-40% of the world’s total
carbon emissions.
Multiple global megatrends are shaping the future of
construction. Consider just two developments: first,
30% of global greenhouse gas emissions are attributable
to buildings (at the same time, the UK government
has set a target for 2025 of 50% reduction in today’s
level of greenhouse gas emissions in the country’s built
environment); second, the population of the world’s urban
areas is increasing by 200,000 people per day, all of whom
need affordable housing as well as social, transportation
and utility infrastructure. Such trends pose challenges but
also offer opportunities; either way, they require an adequate
response from the industry as a whole.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.
