A
motorcycle helmet is a type of helmet (protective
headgear) used by motorcycle riders. The primary
goal of a motorcycle helmet is motorcycle safety-
to protect the rider's head during impact, thus preventing or
reducingheadinjuryandsavingtherider'slife.Somehelmets
provide additional conveniences, such as ventilation, face
shields, ear protection, intercom etc. Motorcycle helmet
is the most important protective gear one can wear while
riding a motorcycle. Four basic components work together
to provide protection in the motorcycle helmet: an outer
shell; an impact-absorbing liner; the comfort padding; and a
good retention system (Chin strap).
India is one of the larg-
est manufacturers for
two-wheeler helmets
in the world. The
country has a
total manufac-
turing capacity
of 35 million
for two-wheel-
er helmets. In
last 5 years, the
two-wheeler hel-
met industry has
grown by a CAGR of
10%. This happened as government took various steps for
ensuring safety of two-wheeler users by wearing a helmet.
The helmet industry is expected to grow at a CAGR of 17%
till 2022. This will happen as two-wheeler riders become
more aware about safety and as technological advancement
takes place in the helmet industry.

T
he castor oil plant, Ricinus communis, is a
species of flowering plant in the spurge family,
Euphorbiaceae. Its seed is the castor bean which,
despite its name, is not a true bean. Castor is indigenous
to the south-eastern Mediterranean Basin, Eastern Africa,
and India, but is widespread throughout tropical regions.
The seeds contain between 40% and 60% oil that is rich in
triglycerides of ricinoleic acid, 12 hydroxy oleic acid. The
Indian variety of castor seed has an oil content of 48% but
only 42% can be extracted. The seed contains ricin, a toxin,
which is also present in lower concentrations throughout
the plant and therefore castor oil is inedible.
Indiaisknownastheworldleaderincastorseed
and oil production and leads the international
castor oil trade. Castor oil production in
this country usually fluctuates between
250,000 and 350,000 tons per year.
Castor is one of the oldest cultivated
crops; however, it contributes to only
0.15% of the vegetable oil produced in
the world. The oil produced from this
crop is considered to be of importance
to the global specialty chemical industry
because it is the only commercial source
of a hydroxylated
fatty acid.
A
mong the biodegradable polymers made from
renewable resources, starch is probably the
most renewable naturally biodegradable poly-
mer source because it is versatile, cheap, and abundant. It
shows compatibility with extrusion processes used in the
manufacture of conventional films and in
the presence of a plasticizer it produc-
es a material with thermoplastic
characteristics, known as ther-
moplastic starch (TPS). As a
result, TPS is often blended
with other polymers, such
as poly (butylene adi-
pate-co-terephthalate)
(PBAT) and biodegrad-
able aliphatic-aromatic
copolyester, which com-
bines biodegradability
with other desirable phys-
ical properties.
The massive use of synthet-
ic plastics, in particular in the food packaging area, has a
great environmental impact, and alternative more ecologic
materials are being required. Poly(lactic) acid (PLA) and
starch have been extensively studied as potential replace-
ments for non-degradable petrochemical polymers on the
basis of their availability, adequate food contact properties
and competitive cost. Indeed, plastics represent the second
most widely used material for food packaging applications,
after paper and cardboard.
P
lastics have become an important part of modern
life and are used in different sectors of applications
like packaging, building materials, consumer
products and much more. Biodegradable plastics are mainly
derived from corn, wheat and potato starch. Biodegradable
plastics products are thermoplastic materials which are
processed with the same machines traditionally used to
process conventional plastics.
Biodegradable materials by nature rely on the role
of microbial decomposition, as packaging materials can
significantly reduce the amount of garbage. With good

quality of products, about 41% of biodegradable packaging
is used for food preservation. 90 years since
the 20th century, the global production
of biodegradable plastics rapid
increase, of which around 60%
used in the packaging industry.
The domestic market
for plastic is currently
about 15 million tons
annually, and plastic
made from vegetable
resin accounts for
only about 10,000
tons. Experts say
that a 10% share
of the market is a
reasonable interim
goal. The global bio
plastics market was
19.54 billion USD in
2016 and is estimat-
ed to reach US$ 65.58
billion in 2022 at an es-
timated CAGR of 22.36%
for the forecasted period.
C
amphor (Cinnamomumcamphora) is
a white, crystalline substance with
a strong odor and pungent taste,
derived from the wood of camphor laurel
(Cinnamomumcamphora) and other related
trees of laurel family. Camphor is obtained
through steam distillation, purification and
sublimation of wood, twigs and bark of the
tree.
There are many pharmaceutical applica-
tions for camphor such as topical analgesic, an-
tiseptic, antispasmodic, antipruritc, antiinfamma -
tory, anti¬infective, rubefacient, contraceptive, mild
expectorant, nasal decongestant, cough suppressant, etc.
The Company is a chemicals manufacturer and has Ter-
penes and Synthetic Camphor as primary segments. Both
segments of Company have performed well in F.Y. 2017-18.
Company has achieved Net Sales Turnover of Rs. 244.24
Cr. with a Proft after Tax of Rs. 14.32 Cr. during F.Y. 2017-
18. approximately 90% of the revenue has come from Ter-
pene Chemicals. Camphor is transparent solid fammable
compound with odorant fra-
grance. Basically it is ob-
tained from the tree i.e.
Camphor laurel tree
which is also known
as the kapur tree a
large evergreen
tree found in
Asia. Moreover,
camphor can be
produced syn-
thetically from
the turpentine
oil derived from
the rosin. Sublima-
tion properties give
its several uses.
A
n optical fiber (or fiber) is a glass or plastic
fber that carries light along its length. Fiber
optics is the overlap of applied science
and engineering concerned with the design and
application of optical fibers. Optical fibers are
widely used in fiber-optic communications,
which permits transmission over longer
distances and at higher bandwidths (data
rates) than other forms of communications.
Fibers are also used for illumination,
and are wrapped in bundles so they can
be used to carry images, thus allowing
viewing in tight spaces. Specially
designed fibers are used for a variety of
other applications, including sensors and
fiber lasers.
India optical fber cables (OFC) mar -
ket is projected to grow at a CAGR of
17% through 2023. Growth in the market
is majorly expected to be backed by rising
investments in OFC network infrastructure
by the Indian government to increase internet
penetration across the country, which
is in line with the government’s ini-
tiatives such as Smart Cities Vi-
sion and Digital India. The
demand for optical fibre
is bound to expand fur-
ther in the near future
as it enjoys a number
of advantages, such
as higher bandwidth,
ability to transmit
voice, video, graphic
and written informa-
tion and applications
in cable television ser-
vices.

alcium propionate is the calcium salt of propionic
acid. Another commonly used name for calcium
propionate is calcium propanoate. Propionic acid
is a natural acid present in small quantities in many foods. In
fermented foods however, propionic acid can be present in
high concentrations because it is produced by fermentation
bacteria. Also the bacteria in the large intestine produce
propionic acid.
The calcium propionate
market was valued at
USD 262.4 million in
2017, it is projected
to grow at a CAGR
of 5.6% from 2018
was valued at USD

he toothbrush is an oral hygiene instrument used
to clean the teeth, gums, and tongue. It consists of
a head of tightly clustered bristle, atop of which
toothpaste can be applied, mounted on a handle which
facilitates the cleaning of hard-to-reach areas of the mouth.
They are usually used alongside foss. An interdental or
interproximal ("proxy") brush is a small brush, typically
disposable, either supplied with a reusable angled plastic
handle or an integral handle, used for cleaning between teeth
and between the wires of dental braces
and the teeth.
The Global Bamboo Tooth-

who give prescribed drugs and medicines to individuals.
There is need of Pharmaceutical College in India for the
development of country and give the better opportunity
to the general merit. Bachelor of Pharmacy or B.Pharm is
a 4-year undergraduate program which is compulsory for
anyone who wants to practice as a pharmacist. B. Pharmacy

P
aint is any pigmented liquid, liquefiable, or mastic
composition that, after application to a substrate
in a thin layer, converts to a solid film. It is most
commonly used to protect, color, or provide texture to
objects. Paint can be made or purchased in many colors—
and in many different types, such as watercolor or synthetic.
Paint is typically stored, sold, and applied as a liquid, but
most types dry into a solid.
Water-based paints tend to be the easiest to clean up
after use; the brushes and rollers can be
cleaned with soap and water.
Proper disposal of left
over paint is a challenge.
Sometimes it can be
recycled: Old paint
may be usable for
a primer coat
or an interme-
diate coat, and
paints of similar
chemistry can be
mixed to make a
larger amount of a
uniform color.
R
ice milling generates
a byproduct known
as husk. This sur-
rounds the paddy grain.
During milling of paddy
about 78% of weight
is received as rice,
broken rice and
bran. Rest 22%
of the weight of
paddy is received
as husk. India
is a major rice
producing coun-
try and the husk
generated during
milling is mostly
used as a fuel in the
boilers for process-
ing paddy, producing
energy through direct
combustion and/or by gasification. This RHA is a great
environment threat causing damage to the land and the sur-
rounding area in which it is dumped.
The India silica market size was valued at USD 46.8
million in 2017. It is likely to post a CAGR of 6.5% during
the forecast period. Strong product demand in the food in-
dustry, owing to its anti-caking and super absorption prop-
erties, has helped the market gain momentum over the past
few years. Silica is used extensively in coatings, wherein
the product acts as anti-settling, matting, thickening,
and thixotropic agent.
C
oncrete sleepers are one of the most import-
ant applications of a railway track system.
The impact load characteristics and ulti-
mate load carrying capacity of a prestressed sleeper, but
the fatigue life of prestressed concrete sleepers is limited.
The railway sleeper is a vital
railway component that lies
between the rail and the
ballast. The important
functions of sleep-
ers include the fol-
lowing: uniform
transfer and dis-
tribution of loads
from the rail foot
to ballast bed,
provision of an
anchorage for the
fastening system,
and the restraining of
lateral, longitudinal, and vertical movement of the rails.
The Indian Railways is among the world’s largest
rail networks. The Indian Railways network is
spread over 115,000 km, with 12,617 passenger
trains and 7,421 freight trains each day from
7,172 stations plying 23 million travelers and
3 million tones (MT) of freight daily. During
FY 2016-17, the passenger traffic of Indian
Railways grew 0.8 per cent to 8,219.38 million,
with passenger revenue growth of 4.6 per cent
at Rs 47,449.75 crore (US$ 7.37 billion).
A
solar panel is a collection of solar cells. Lots of
small solar cells spread over a large area can work
together to provide enough power to be useful.
The more light that hits a cell the more electricity it produces
Solar panel refers either to a photovoltaic module, a solar
thermal energy panel, or to a set of solar photovoltaic
(PV) modules electrically connected and mounted on
a supporting structure. A PV module is a packaged,
connected assembly of solar cells. Solar panels can
be used as a component of a larger photovoltaic
system to generate and supply electricity in
commercial and residential applications. A single
solar module can produce only a limited amount
of power most installations contain multiple
modules.Aphotovoltaic system typically includes
a panel or an array of solar modules, an inverter,
and sometimes a battery and/or solar tracker and
interconnection wiring.
The PV MARKET has been upward trend for
years now. The market is expected to continue to
grow until 20. The JNNSM (Jawaharlal Nehru National
Solar Mission) target of 20 GW of installation by 2022 and
also proactive policies from states like Gujarat are the key
drivers for the growth of the solar sector in India.
Globally, China dominates the cell and module
production and has about 50% MARKET share. In terms of
installations, Germany leads the world with close to 50% of

I
ntravenous cannulation is a technique
in which a cannula is placed inside a
vein to provide venous access. Venous
access allows sampling of blood as well as
administration of fluids, medications, parenteral
nutrition, chemotherapy, and blood products.
In simple terms, a cannula can surround the inner
or outer surfaces of a trocar needle thus extending
the effective needle length by at least half the length of
the original needle. It is also called an intravenous (IV)
cannula. Its size mainly ranges from 14 to 24 gauges.
Different-sized cannulas have different colours as
coded. I.V. Catheters are made out of special
medical grade polyurethane which becomes
very soft at body temperature ensuring
patient comfort. Catheters thereby
allow drainage or injection of fluids
or access by surgical instruments.
The process of inserting a catheter
is catheterisation. In most uses a
catheter is a thin, flexible tube: a
"soft" catheter; in some uses, it is a
larger, solid tube: a "hard" catheter.
The IV cannula market is
estimated to grow at a CAGR of 6.2%
from 2017 to 2022 to reach USD 13.63
Billion by 2022. The global peripheral
intravenous catheter market is estimated to be valued at
US$ 3,663.7 Mn by the end of 2015, reaching a value of
US$ 5,224.7 Mn by the end of 2021 at a CAGR of 6.1%.
The Indian domestic Medicare devices industry is expected
to grow from Rs. 60 bn to Rs. 76.5 bn in four years. The
overall market is estimated at Rs. 150 bn. A major part of
the demand is met through imports. As a whole there is a
good scope for new entrepreneur to invest in this business.

ndia has long coastal line of 8118 km and the total fish
production is about 90 lakh tons. West Bengal is the
largest fish producing state and accounts for about 17
per cent of the total fish production India. Fish production in
India might also cross 13 million tonnes mark by 2017-18, it
is aimed to increase it to 15.00 MMT by 2020.
Fish is one of the protein foods that needs careful
handling. This is because fish spoils easily after capture
due to the high tropical temperature which accelerates the
activities of bacteria, enzymes and chemical oxidation of fat
in the fish.
The fish industry utilizes only one percent of the total
cold storage capacity available in the country today. Further,
while three-fourths of fish harvested in India is marketed in
fresh form, there is a strong need for the cold chain indus-
try to come up with innovative &
cost effective transportation
and storage facilities to
ensure supply of supe-
rior product to the
consumer. India,
contributing 5.7
percent to to-
tal global fish
production,
ranks second
in overall fish
p r o d u c t i o n

second largest
producer of fresh
water fish in the
world.

eem oil is obtained from the seeds
of neem tree. Utilization of neem
seeds is to be set with the problem
of organization of systematic collection and
crushing of seeds. Neem oil is usually
opaque and bitter but it has recently been
shown that it can be processed into non
bitter edible oil with 50% oleic acid and
15% linoleum acid. 'Neem oil extractives',
a waste from neem oil refining has been
found to be effective mosquitolarvicide.
The material acts as instant killer of
the first in star larvae of Culexfatigans
at 0.04% concentration whereas at lower
concentrations it had delayed toxicity.

nsoluble sulfur is, by definition, sulfur which is insol-
uble in carbon disulfide. This form of sulfur is gener-
ally understood to be polymeric in nature, the poly-
mer chains being made up of up to several thousand sulfur
atoms. Insoluble sulfur is distinguished from soluble sulfur,
which is crystalline in form. In this industry, sulfur is used
as a cross linking (vulcanizing) agent in rubber compound
formulations. The term "insoluble sulfur" is usually applied
to that sulfur fraction which is in-
soluble in carbon disulphide.

oda ash, the trade name for sodium car-
bonate (Na2CO3), is a white, anhydrous,
powdered or granular material. It is an
essential raw material used in the manufacturing
of glass, detergents chemicals and other industrial
products. Today, "natural soda ash" refined from the
mineral trona is regarded as the standard for quality
and purity and is also processed from sodium-carbon-
ate-bearing brines. Sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) also known
as washing soda or soda ash, is a sodium salt of
carbonic acid. Most commonly occurs as a
crystalline heptahydrate, which readily
eforesces to form a white powder,
the monohydrate.
The global soda ash industry
is undergoing significant struc-
tural change, characterised by
shifting capacity, the impact
of rising costs for synthetic
soda ash producers and devel-
opments in its core markets.
Changes in soda ash markets,
including the way some counties
export wine without bottles, are
setting new trends in the worldwide
soda ash industry. Worldwide average
demand for soda ash is expected to increase by 3.3% per
year between 2014 and 2024, IHS’ analysis shows, driven
by increased consumption in the recovering construction
and automotive industries, with China, the world’s largest
soda ash producer, contributing almost 4% year-on-year
growth to 2024. Which facilitates the development of
new technologies and ensure a high quality product.

nutrients: nitrogen (N), phos-

Potash is used in the mineral form and is mainly imported
for India's fertiliser requirements. Some plants produce only
nitrogenous fertilisers, a few phosphatic and others mixed.
The per hectare consumption of fertiliser nutrients in-
creased from less than a kg in 1950-51 to over 113 kg
in 2006-07. Even the latter is low when compared
to global standards. Nutrient-wise, the installed
capacity of the industry at the beginning of
2008 was composed of 12 mn TPA of nitrogen
