Adolf Hitler was born in Austria in 1889 and rose to become the Chancellor of Germany in 1933 and its Führer by 1934. As the leader of Nazi Germany, he maintained power through extreme influence over the German people and pursued a vision of a perfect world for the German race. While his intentions and actions were morally corrupt and caused immense human suffering, some argue he was an effective leader who brought Germany out of economic depression and made it a powerful military force for a time. However, his style of totalitarian leadership would not be successful in modern times. Ultimately, Hitler committed suicide in 1945 as Nazi Germany fell in World War II.
This is a brief analysis of the personality of Adolf Hitler based on some journal articles and slides from SlideShare. Hope this will help you further.
Leadership Lessons from Adolf Hitler:
Adolf Hitler did much evil during his regime in Nazi Germany. Although I do not share his values, but he did do certain things right as a leader to rally a whole nation. Here are some positive lessons that you can pick up from him:
1. Speaking with purpose:
Hitler was a captivating public speaker. He would enrapture crowds with his vision and sense of purpose of the nation. His words moved a country, even the church to believe that they were killing in the name of God. That was the extent of his charisma. While Hitler was a great orator, and that contributed to his ability to capture his audience, it was his deep belief in what he was doing that moved the nation. He gave his nation a new purpose and destiny and they were willing to follow him for it.
As a leader, the strength of your conviction will often determine how far your followers are willing to go through with it together with you.
2. Understanding Human Nature
Adolf Hitler understood human nature very well. He knew how to use human nature to his personal gain and with that knowledge; he rallied the whole nation behind him. You have to understand the thoughts, inclinations of human nature well if you are to be an effective leader as well. This often means a high level of emotional intelligence. Much of human nature can be easily being seen in yourself; especially in your weakness to temptation or any base inclination. You don’t have to study psychology or take a course in human nature to understand them. Often your life experiences might already give you a good clue as to how people behave and how to motivate people.
3. Constant Influence:
Adolf Hitler successfully used propaganda to bring the whole nation under his influence through the constant use of media and communications; he managed to cause a whole nation to think alike to serve his cause. As the propaganda minister in Nazi Germany, Joseph Goebbels says, “If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it, and you will even come to believe it yourself.” (This quote may have been misattributed to him, but the point is there.) There’s a lesson for us leaders to be learnt here. People become what they are constantly being exposed to. If you constantly read, watch and listen to positive messages, you’ll naturally become positive. And it works vice versa as well. We’d like to think that we are thinking independently of our environment, but the truth is that most of us think, act and believe in a certain way as a result of several unconscious cues from our environment. What is the underlying message you portray to your team each day? The words you speak, the actions you take often have either a positive or negative influence on your team.

7. The German population viewed Adolph Hitler as a strong
leader, and someone who could lead their nation back to
power and wealth. He may have been bad for humanity,
but the German people viewed him as a hero. It has been
debated over many years whether or not Adolf Hitler was
a good leader for his country.
Although his intentions were corrupt, Adolf Hitler
proved himself to be a clever leader a great leader because
he kept all of his promises and even today most leaders
fail to do as they say. He brought Germany back out of
The Depression, and he certainly made Germany the
worlds strongest country, during the beginning and
middle of World War Two. 7
8. Adolf Hitler, regardless of his wrong doings and the
obvious evil that he empowered, was one of the
great leaders of our time and changed the way that
our society looked at war. The fact that Hitler came
from a front-line soldier with no real future in a
leadership role to the chancellor of Germany and the
commander of a great army shows his great will and
ability to meet his goals and to manipulate people to
achieve a vision.

9. Overall, Hitler's situational analysis and
leadership style based on the analysis and the
situations that he created for himself make Hitler
a great leader and a great man in the respect that
he turned nothing into something huge. It is
unfortunate that he used his abilities for evil
rather than good, but his accomplishments as a
leader must be regarded as great. This style of
leadership would not be likely to succeed in a
growing, innovative corporation today, but in the
setting that Germany and Adolf Hitler found
themselves in during the 1930's, the style proved to
be very successful when referring to the definition

of leadership that we have been concerned with
this term.
