Adele- Someone like you.
Someone like you by Adele can be identify as a Pop genre, however with a classical twist
and because of this I think that it is developing and using conventions. There is a
relationship between the visual and the lyrics with the visual illustrating and amplifying the
      lyric

                                                                                The mise-en-scene of the
Black and White transition
                                                                                lonely path/ alley way
emphasises with the mood of
                                                                                behind Adele emphasise
her song with is very sad and
                                                                                how her emotion and also
emotional.
                                                                                emphasise with the song.

Steve Frich’s Theory- This shows a close up of Adele’s face
which is like this the nearly throughout the song and her lip-
synching work really well, which allow her to see how well
she could sing and so, this song was also base on her
                           beautiful voice.
There is a tracking shot throughout the song as well following her and then going further
away from her when she sings and the first bridge.

The camera came back to a close up and she stares at the camera but she looks sad which
allow us to connect to her. Also the close up shows that it more about the “star-image” and
Richard Dyer says that “reinforcing the star’s existing images but not in a sexual way but
                       emotional conventional. (construction image)
At this moment where the
camera does a panning shot to
the right allowing us to see the
  mise-en-scene lonely street
and gives us a scent of location
and also allows us to connect
          to her song.

And then it goes back to her but
we are facing her back. This
shows that there is no editing
from shot to shot, which make
                             the mood slower and calmer
                             which emphasise with her song
                             which is also slow.
Here we find that she is stop singing or lip-synch which shows a developing convention,
however you see more beauty shot or “star image”. In addition to this it may look like she is
thinking about the time she spend with that “person”.

(Left &Right)) Here shows that it is a non-linear narrative however it happens toward the
ending of the video, and here is look like a flashback. Again showing extreme close up of her
eyes- “star-image”. As Andrew Goodwins says because it a really interesting music video
that can relate to anyone, it “leaves the viewer with the desire to see it again if only to
catch the bit missing in the first view”
