Ada Byron Lovelace was an English mathematician and writer who is considered the world's first computer programmer. She worked with Charles Babbage on his early mechanical general-purpose computer, called the Analytical Engine. Lovelace was the daughter of the famous poet Lord Byron and translated and expanded on an article about the Analytical Engine, writing the first algorithm intended to be processed by a machine.
