Email – a shortened term for Electronic Mail, it is a way of
sending digital messages encoded to electronic devices
through the Internet or other communication networks.

Wiki – a website which is usually composed of
collaborative work of many authors. It allows other people
to edit, delete, and even modify any content that have
been placed in that website.

4. Common Online Terminologies :
Social Bookmarking – a kind of online service which
allows the user to add, annotate, edit, and share
bookmarks of web documents. It is also comparable to the
term ―Tagging‖ which is a keyword or term assigned to a
piece of information such as an Internet bookmark, digital
image, or computer file.

HTML(HyperText Markup Language) – the language used in
creating websites, webpages, and other documents on the
World Wide Web.

6. Common Online Terminologies :
Podcast – are digital media files such as audios and videos
that are produced in a series. You can subscribe to a series
of podcast by using a software called a podcatcher. Once
you subscribe, your podcatcher periodically checks to see
if any new files have been published, and if so,
automatically downloads them onto your computer or
portable music player for you to listen to or watch,
whenever you wish (Bertucci).

VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) – use of technology for
the delivery of voice communications and multimedia
sessions over the Internet.

Online Chat – refers to any real-time communication
between two users with the use of a computer or any
device. Messages in this form are usually short in order for
the recipient to reply quickly. It can also be classified as
text-based or video-based (webcams), one-on-one or oneto-many.

WWW(World Wide Web) – usually precedes URL addresses,
WWW also indicates that the Web address can only be
found on the vast network of the World Wide Web.

Streaming – A technique for transferring data such that it
can be processed as a steady and continuous stream.

Blog – Translated from Web log, it is a Web page that
serves as a public personal journal for an individual. It is
usually updated daily, and it often reflects the personality
of its the author.
12. Common Online Terminologies :
Social Networking – It is the grouping of individuals into
specific groups, or even just small circle of friends through
networking.
13. Common Online Terminologies :
URL(Uniform Resource Locator) - It is the global address of
documents and other resources on the World Wide Web.

Web Feed (News Feed) – It is a data format used for
providing users with frequently updated content.
