2. The tower is the most notable and the most
distinctive part of the silhouette of the town
Spišská Nová Ves. The tower of the Roman-
Catholic vicarage church of the Virgin Mary’s
Assumption originating from the 13th
century is one of the town’s greatest
attractions because of its height of 87
metres. It is built on original medieval walls.
A curiosity is seven big clock faces run by a
single clockwork.

jaguar, a Persian leopard, an American puma
and a chimpanzee, other approx. 300 animals

building of former medieval town hall called
Provinčný dom (The Provincial House) today.
The façade is decorated in rococo style with
stucco decoration of six cartouches
representing qualities that a corporation
member should possess. Exhibitions in
Markušovce and Smižany are branches of the
Spiš Museum.
7. A 25-meter swimming pool with water depth
ranging from 120 cm to 380 cm is at disposal
as well as a diving tower, children’s non-
swimmer pool. There is the possibility of
morning swimming. Sauna, steam sauna and
massages are parts of the object.

pool with water depth of 180 cm and three
small pools. Playing areas at disposal – beach,
volleyball, basketball.
