Fraternal greeting tutor and e-mates:
I so sorry for my little participation but for connection reasons I have not been able to
constantly access the platform, I will try to develop activity two to be able to work
collaboratively, however, it is most likely that I will have to present it individually for
reasons of unstable connection
I share the development of the activity
Attend the first web conference of the course. Take evidence (screenshots) of your
participation to be posted in the forum (1 at the beginning, 4 in the development of the
web and 1 at the end). Be sure your name appears in the screenshots. If you do not
participate, watch the recording of such web conference, and write a summary to be
posted in the forum. The summary should have at least 200 words. It should be
professionally written, with proper punctuation, spelling, grammar, and proper citation.
The first conference of the course begins with a greeting from teacher Milly, who is the
main speaker, and the instruction is "Students, turn on your webcam and take a
screenshot to show your participation." (minute 1:13)
The tutor makes a presentation and at the same time says that in the videoconference
there are also two teachers, Cristian Canon and Javier Sierra, expressing that we can
communicate with her through the different interactive media (Minute 3:39). Once the
tutor Milly finishes with her presentation, she gives the floor to the teacher Cristian
Canon (Minute 11:19), and then the teacher Milly introduces the teacher Javier Sierra “.
(Minute 16:03), who says that he graduated from the District University, finished a
master's degree last year at the same university and worked at the Sebastián Arboleda
University” (minute: 17:03).
Once the presentation is over, teacher Milly talks about British English, to which teacher
Cristian says "we are very influenced by American English, on television, videos, or
material of the learning process, but that he will correct the errors" (Minute 18:37). The
teacher Milly talks about the diversity of accents depending on the regions where we
were born, but that does not influence the learning of another language (Minute 20:10).
Professor Javier Sierra speaks different accents and that it is possible to understand
texts in American and British English. (minute 23:35).
Professor Milli Muñoz explains the development of each task and how it will be
evaluated, she clarifies that for activity two it will be graded individually and in groups,
since she explains that a video must be made, interact with classmates by asking
questions (Minute 40 :00) To finish, the tutor says that he will be attentive by skype for
any questions, and suggests participating in synchronous meetings to improve skills in
this language (Minute 1:00:47)
