Achieving Regulatory Compliance The Devil Is In The Data GovernanceIAIDQ Community
This presentation was delivered by Ken O'Connor of Professional IT Personnel Ltd at the IAIDQ/Irish Computer Society IDQ Seminar in Dublin on the 22nd February.
In this presentation, Ken discusses the various drivers for Regulatory Compliance and the key role that well governed, high quality data has to play in achieving that goal.
Revelations about how data about us is shared by companies like Facebook have caused alarm and raised important questions about the use and misuse of personal data. How do we enable people, organisations and communities to use data to make better decisions and be protected from any of its harmful impacts? This session will discuss the issues around this topic and demonstrate a new approach for organisations to identify and manage data ethics considerations: the Data Ethics Canvas.
In late 2015, there were
a number of significant
announcements regarding
climate change — including
commitments from the Paris
Conference of Parties (COP21),
the release of the Australian
Government’s National Climate
Resilience and Adaptation
Strategy, and reports from
the Bureau of Meteorology
(BOM) and the Commonwealth
Scientific and Industrial Research
Organisation (CSIRO) on climate
risk and resiliance.
They all pointed to one thing — our climate
is changing and urgent steps are required
to manage and mitigate the impacts.
Even as we look to reduce current and
future greenhouse gas emissions, without
deep reductions we are already locked
into inevitable climate system impacts.
The issue is how to manage and mitigate
the impacts of climate change when even
under a globally binding consensus for
action, we will need to plan for a future
of climate uncertainanty.
This all leads to inevitable uncertainty
and challenges for Australian business
in determining a response.
There is little arguing the benefits and disruptive potential of Big Data. However, many organizations have not fully embedded Big Data in their operations. In fact, our research shows that only 13% have achieved full-scale production for their Big Data implementations. The most troubling development is that most organizations are failing to benefit from their investments. Only 27% of respondents described their Big Data initiatives as “successful” and only 8% described them as “very successful”.
Big Data - it's the big buzz. But is it dead on arrival?

Data is key to all of us. Regardless if you are a banker, retailer, marketer or underwriter, we all strive to know the most about our prospects and customers. We need to know their likes, wants, pain points and a foresight into their interest. And we need to know it before the prospect or customer does. Given the never-ending need for further insights, many of us continually look for new data sources to provide this competitive edge. This is just good business. But there is a need to understand both the predictability and persistence of the data and the insights it provides.

Many of the fines issued by the FCA over the past few years can be attributed to poor information management. The threats from external cyber-attack and malicious insiders are escalating, with your corporate and client information being the primary target of the cyber criminals. The legal requirement on UK businesses will evolve with the proposed EU data protection regulation likely to come into force next year. It is therefore critical to implement robust information risk management.
The Chief Data Officer's Agenda: The Status of the Chief Data OfficerDATAVERSITY
CDOs are a hot topic of discussion, but does the reality support the hype? We spent the last few weeks talking to CDOs, and based on our research, the answer is absolutely “yes.” And then sometimes it’s also “no.” Though there is lots of prognostication about what CDOs “should” be doing, we found a lot of misinformation and misunderstanding about how the role operates in practice. The fact is that CDOs are a multi-faceted bunch. Most of them work on enterprise data strategy, but the rest of their time is highly customized to the needs of their particular organization, including analytics, data operations, and even application development. The real world of today’s CDO is varied, exciting, sometimes frustrating, and often creative! Please join John Ladley and Tony Shaw for their launch of the DATAVERSITY “Status of the CDO” Report, a thorough survey of what CDOs are doing today. We will cover topics including:
What motivates an organization to appoint a Chief Data Officer?
Who does the CDO report to?
What experience does it take to become a CDO?
Do CDOs have their own staff and budget?
How do functional responsibilities vary from industry to industry?
What are the differences between the CIO and CDO roles?
What are some of the pitfalls and unrealistic expectations for CDOs?
What issues are on the horizon for Chief Data Officers?

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.

Memorandum Of Association Constitution of Company.pptseri bangash
www.seribangash.com
A Memorandum of Association (MOA) is a legal document that outlines the fundamental principles and objectives upon which a company operates. It serves as the company's charter or constitution and defines the scope of its activities. Here's a detailed note on the MOA:
Contents of Memorandum of Association:
Name Clause: This clause states the name of the company, which should end with words like "Limited" or "Ltd." for a public limited company and "Private Limited" or "Pvt. Ltd." for a private limited company.
https://seribangash.com/article-of-association-is-legal-doc-of-company/
Registered Office Clause: It specifies the location where the company's registered office is situated. This office is where all official communications and notices are sent.
Objective Clause: This clause delineates the main objectives for which the company is formed. It's important to define these objectives clearly, as the company cannot undertake activities beyond those mentioned in this clause.
www.seribangash.com
Liability Clause: It outlines the extent of liability of the company's members. In the case of companies limited by shares, the liability of members is limited to the amount unpaid on their shares. For companies limited by guarantee, members' liability is limited to the amount they undertake to contribute if the company is wound up.
https://seribangash.com/promotors-is-person-conceived-formation-company/
Capital Clause: This clause specifies the authorized capital of the company, i.e., the maximum amount of share capital the company is authorized to issue. It also mentions the division of this capital into shares and their respective nominal value.
Association Clause: It simply states that the subscribers wish to form a company and agree to become members of it, in accordance with the terms of the MOA.
Importance of Memorandum of Association:
Legal Requirement: The MOA is a legal requirement for the formation of a company. It must be filed with the Registrar of Companies during the incorporation process.
Constitutional Document: It serves as the company's constitutional document, defining its scope, powers, and limitations.
Protection of Members: It protects the interests of the company's members by clearly defining the objectives and limiting their liability.
External Communication: It provides clarity to external parties, such as investors, creditors, and regulatory authorities, regarding the company's objectives and powers.
https://seribangash.com/difference-public-and-private-company-law/
Binding Authority: The company and its members are bound by the provisions of the MOA. Any action taken beyond its scope may be considered ultra vires (beyond the powers) of the company and therefore void.
Amendment of MOA:
While the MOA lays down the company's fundamental principles, it is not entirely immutable. It can be amended, but only under specific circumstances and in compliance with legal procedures. Amendments typically require shareholder
