Multimedia Department Supervisor
I began my career with Pinnacle as an intern to fulfill a requirement for my
college degree. Upon completion of the internship, I was hired as staff
writer and Grip on a part-time basis until graduation. I was later hired full
time.
As Supervisor of the multimedia department I coordinated departmental
workflow to ensure that projects were delivered on time, and on budget.
Additional duties included
- Bidding for and securing new clients and projects
- Designing, scripting, and developing video, multimedia, and
web projects
- Working closely with clients throughout the entire development
process
- Working with management to ensure department efforts
supported the overall business goals.

Duties at Rockwell Automation leveraged my Harless training to create print-
based materials used around the world. I further leveraged this into the
emerging field of computer based media design, which I then used to develop
a departmental style guide. This assisted the team to create consistent
materials and work with other departments, ensuring our training materials
were consistent with the corporate look and standards. While working closely
with clients, instructors, subject-matter experts, and development teams to
explore this emerging medium.
Once I became Sr. Instructional Developer, I introduced alternative formats
for materials including troubleshooting flowcharts and multimedia. After five
years in the Mayfield Heights, Ohio office, I was transferred to Mequon,
Wisconsin to staff and supervise a training department for the products made
at that location.
Duties in Mequon included all of my prior developer duties in addition to the
supervisory duties. After two years I was transferred back to the Mayfield
Heights location where I started to design, develop, and incorporate
multimedia programs into the traditional instructor-led training.

Progressive has allowed me the opportunity to expand my design,
development, and delivery strengths to create a media department, training
to educate people company-wide, and use my problem solving skills and
technical knowledge to directly support Progressive employees, including
the CMO/CEO.
I am seen as a Trusted Advisor, and the “go-to guy” across the company
when a resource is needed-- from a trainer to senior management, where
things cannot go wrong and must work first time, every time.
I have the ability to see the big picture of the company vision and distill it to
the level of the audience I am working with so a consistent message is
delivered throughout. I do this by relying on my business experience and
education as a writer, designer, presenter, and problem solver.
