According to the textbook, information management is among
the most critical functions of business success
In current world, business are very competitive and you need to
stay ahead in the game to bring new features/products/services
to the market & to the customers, failing will impact
creditability of your brand, having high quality and timely data
are very crucial and it is a critical business asset, Well designed
Information management helps to get this data to make the right
decisions at the right decisions at the right time, enabling a
faster response to changes in your business environment at less
cost, with fewer mistakes and leading to better business
performance.
Information management has traditionally been the job of the IT
department, but the responsiveness required of business
operations these days makes it imperative that top management
takes responsibility for information quality from the business
viewpoint rather than seeing it as a solely technological
exercise. It is the management’s task to define what information
it needs to run the business successfully, when the information
is needed and what its quality criteria should be.
2.Evaluate the level of impact of IT / enterprise architecture on
information management (e.g., the flow of information
throughout the company / organization, etc.) within a company
or industry of your choice.
Information technology (IT) is dramatically changing the
business landscape. Although organization cultures and business
strategies shape the use of IT in organizations, more often the
influence is stronger the other way round. IT significantly
affects strategic options and creates opportunities and issues
that managers need to address in many aspects of their business.
During my stint as IT developer with Large cooking ware
products company (direct selling), the business team solely
depended on IT shop, all offers, service catalogs, promotions
were enabled and simplified by IT, it established open flow of
information allows everyone within the organization to
understand the way that Direct selling via Sales portal works.
3.Next, determine at least one (1) obstacle or challenge that the
IT organizational leader would face in order to support
organizational information within the company or organization
that you have chosen
One of the challenge we had with our Organization business
users, adaptability of the changes, our business users were very
used to maintain the offer, promotions in manual way, store as
excel sheets in their work station, With our IT architecture of
maintaining templates in a central place and auto populate the
current offer, promotions triggered Resistance to the change
from business users, we overcome by extensive training by
uplifting technical skills of business users and conducting
awareness sessions on online sales, B2B, B2C concepts.
4. According to the textbook, “at no time will a specific
target architecture ever be achieved”. State the main reasons
why the authors make this assertion and decide whether or not
you agree with this assertion. Justify your response.
Which is very true, simple web site development /design gone
through severe architecture change over last 20 years, it needs
to be constantly changing to bring features to the customer
needs.

Introduction
An informative speech seeks to give particular information to
the audience. The quality of speech depends on the number, the
source, and quality of the points identified. This means that the
speaker must research the existing literature to get these points.
Global warming Using two articles, this presentation will
explore how a speaker on global warming can use journal
articles to improve his or her informative speech.
This is one of the useful article that can be used to develop
informative speech on global warming. It offers insightful facts
that are important in understanding global warming. From the
article, the speaker will get information about the root cause of
the cause of the problem; the green house effect. The green
house effect is well explained as the emission of carbon dioxide
gas into the environment. The article attributes global warming
to the emission of carbon dioxide to the environment. According
to it, the gas is mostly produced in the process of energy
generation or production .An example is the industrial emission
of the gas during its factory processes. The book has also cited
the international bodies that have stepped into the scene to try
and analyze the extend over which the green house gases have
been distributed, giving both the real and the estimated figures
of the gas in atmosphere. OPEC and CAN are the organizations
highlighted .The book has also well expounded the way in
which green house gases bring about global warming. It
explains that these gases trap the radiations coming from the
sun by preventing them from leaving the atmosphere, thus
creating a scenario of risen temperatures. A summary of it
gives the effects of global warming. Among the effects are
rising water levels in seas and oceans, heavy rainfalls like el-
ninos and tsunamis.
This is another useful article to be used. The article starts by
giving a background of the concept of globalization. It supports
the views of the earlier analyzed writer on the same concept of
globalization. In addition, it gives us an overview of the effects
of global warming to the world. It highlights the effects as
rising sea levels, temperature increase, heat waves and storms,
which bring about a lot of losses to both human lives and
property.
It also analyses the root cause of global warming. It
categorically states that it is caused by emission of carbon
dioxide into the environment. Like the other text, it holds to the
view that human activities are responsible for the emission of
the gases into the environment. It highlights the motivations
which have driven scientists into trying to predict the emission
of the green gases into the environment.
An argument on the importance of predicting the emission of
the green gases into the environment is brought into the
limelight. The prediction is significant in the manner in which
most countries in the world will alter their economic practices
in order to reduce the amount of green gases reaching the
atmosphere. The book draws a conclusion that measures should
be mitigated to curb the rise in, and reduce the amount of green
gases reaching the atmosphere.

HCI Theories" Please respond to the following:
Imagine you are the manager of a medium-sized IT department.
While walking through the hall one day, you overhear a senior-
level software developer telling a newly hired developer to
focus on improving his coding skills rather than learning about
theories related to human-computer interaction. Take a position
on whether you agree or disagree with the senior software
developer. Support your decision.
Unfortunately; I cannot side with the senior-level software
developer on his viewpoint on most important focus. Coding
skills are obviously important for software developers;
however, there are other concepts that should not be
overlooked. Without understanding how a user is most likely
going to interact with software there is no reason to begin
developing a new program. Human-computer interaction, HCI,
was brought forward when computer use moved from a rather
small amount of users to anyone being able to interact with a
computer (Carroll, 2015). There was a very quick realization
that there was no way every personal user would easily learn
how to interact with a computer; therefore, HCI was developed
to provide a push for usability for all. Because the point of HCI
is to ensure developers have a grasp on how a user will interact
with a piece of technology it becomes a vital part of design and
development, well, should be if taking the proper approach. HCI
is extremely important for the good of the product as well as
ease of use for the user. Looking back I remember how difficult
some people found understanding the interaction process with a
computer. I cannot imagine how it would have ended had people
not taken the time to study the interaction process and worked
to streamlining it for as many people as possible. This is a
critical understanding every developer needs to take the time to
focus on prior to continuing on with his or her career.

From the e-Activity, discuss the idea that all applications have
to be visually consistent. Argue whether you agree or disagree
with the idea and why.
The thought of consistency has drastically changed over the
years. In the beginning consistency meant everything looked the
same as well as functioned the same. John Grubber in the video
we were to watch explained that it was truly a uniformity that
was being followed rather than consistency. The reason for this
was that every single application appeared the same down to
where the close button appeared on the header. This is great
when you truly do not desire functionality of a system to grow
and evolve; however, developers soon realized that users are not
as unable to manage changes in appearance so long as there is
consistency in function. Changing the shape of a button, color
used to highlight when utilizing a drop menu, or size did not
change how easily a user moved from one version or application
to another. Functionally consistent is the focus that needs to be
met when designing. Another important aspect is that it is not
just application to application, but within an application as
well. A user does become custom to where something is or how
a specific bottom functions; therefore, changing the function or
placement of something from screen to screen within the
application can and will cause issues. A good example is a bank
app I have on my phone. On one of the screens the menu came
from the bottom but on the next it moved in from the side. This
becomes frustrating when switching between and attempting to
remember which place the menu needs accessed from. A simple
focus on consistency would have prompted a change to this
somewhat minor detail that does have effect on the user.
(I utilized the video for week 2's e-Activity found
at http://vimeo.com/21742166?ab for the basis of this post)
Imagine you are leading a team of designers for a new software
product. During the kickoff meeting, the team starts to discuss
design guidelines. About half of the team complains that
guidelines can be too specific, incomplete, hard to apply, and
sometimes wrong. The other half feels that building on
experience from design leaders contributes to steady
improvements. Take a stance on this debate and support your
position. Then discuss how you would solve this conflict to get
your meeting back on track.
When developing a new software the biggest issue that
developers face is that when they create the software they do
not think of the needs of the customer. What this means is a
programmer can develop a software that can do the job but if
it’s not easy to use then it will lose the interest of the customers
and what the software was really attended for. The first thing
that needs to be done is what exactly this software is for.
Second will be who this software is attend for, then lastly when
developing the software an agile approach will be needed. By
using the agile approach you are getting the customers involved
and have them use the program. From there changes can be
made by the customer’s recommendations and by the
programmer which at the end comes the final product of a well
developed software.
Of the eight principles of design, called “Golden Rules” (strive
for consistency, cater to universal usability, offer informative
feedback, design dialogues to yield closure, prevent errors,
permit easy reversal of actions, support internal locus of
control, and reduce short-term memory load) choose the one
that is most important and create an argument supporting your
choice. Use specific examples to support your argument.
Of the eight golden rules mention here I would have to go with,
“Strive for consistency” I bring this up because it is a well-
known fact that when a software company wants to improve on
what they have they like to change everything. One company
that is very big on changing how their software works is
Microsoft. The reason why I bring up Microsoft because at my
current company we deal with their products daily and dread the
new upgrades. Reason why is because of the constant changes
that they do to their software and their OS. Let’s look Microsoft
Office 2007 and 2013, both products does the same function but
the UI are completely different. Because of this massive change
in the UI clients are force to relearn everything and have to go
searching for tools that were move to a different location or has
been completely removed. Another issue dealing with Microsoft
is their OS, when they first release Windows 8, it had a very
bad reception. No one wanted because it was aim more towards
tablets than a PC, and it didn’t recognize a lot of hardware such
as high end video cards and sound cards. Because of these
issues MS had to go back to the drawing board and redeveloped
their OS which is now Windows 10.

According to the textbook, information management is among the mos.docx

  • 1. According to the textbook, information management is among the most critical functions of business success In current world, business are very competitive and you need to stay ahead in the game to bring new features/products/services to the market & to the customers, failing will impact creditability of your brand, having high quality and timely data are very crucial and it is a critical business asset, Well designed Information management helps to get this data to make the right decisions at the right decisions at the right time, enabling a faster response to changes in your business environment at less cost, with fewer mistakes and leading to better business performance. Information management has traditionally been the job of the IT department, but the responsiveness required of business operations these days makes it imperative that top management takes responsibility for information quality from the business viewpoint rather than seeing it as a solely technological exercise. It is the management’s task to define what information it needs to run the business successfully, when the information is needed and what its quality criteria should be. 2.Evaluate the level of impact of IT / enterprise architecture on information management (e.g., the flow of information throughout the company / organization, etc.) within a company or industry of your choice. Information technology (IT) is dramatically changing the business landscape. Although organization cultures and business strategies shape the use of IT in organizations, more often the influence is stronger the other way round. IT significantly affects strategic options and creates opportunities and issues that managers need to address in many aspects of their business. During my stint as IT developer with Large cooking ware

According to the textbook, “at no time will a specific target architecture ever be achieved”. State the main reasons why the authors make this assertion and decide whether or not you agree with this assertion. Justify your response. Which is very true, simple web site development /design gone through severe architecture change over last 20 years, it needs to be constantly changing to bring features to the customer needs. • EARLY 1990S – TEXT BASED SITES AND MOSAIC • MID-1990S – TABLE BASED GRAPHICS AND ONLINE SITE BUILDERS • LATE 1990S – THE AGE OF FLASH

The quality of speech depends on the number, the source, and quality of the points identified. This means that the speaker must research the existing literature to get these points. Global warming Using two articles, this presentation will explore how a speaker on global warming can use journal articles to improve his or her informative speech. This is one of the useful article that can be used to develop informative speech on global warming. It offers insightful facts that are important in understanding global warming. From the article, the speaker will get information about the root cause of the cause of the problem; the green house effect. The green house effect is well explained as the emission of carbon dioxide gas into the environment. The article attributes global warming to the emission of carbon dioxide to the environment. According to it, the gas is mostly produced in the process of energy generation or production .An example is the industrial emission of the gas during its factory processes. The book has also cited the international bodies that have stepped into the scene to try and analyze the extend over which the green house gases have been distributed, giving both the real and the estimated figures of the gas in atmosphere. OPEC and CAN are the organizations highlighted .The book has also well expounded the way in which green house gases bring about global warming. It explains that these gases trap the radiations coming from the
  • 4. sun by preventing them from leaving the atmosphere, thus creating a scenario of risen temperatures. A summary of it gives the effects of global warming. Among the effects are rising water levels in seas and oceans, heavy rainfalls like el- ninos and tsunamis. This is another useful article to be used. The article starts by giving a background of the concept of globalization. It supports the views of the earlier analyzed writer on the same concept of globalization. In addition, it gives us an overview of the effects of global warming to the world. It highlights the effects as rising sea levels, temperature increase, heat waves and storms, which bring about a lot of losses to both human lives and property. It also analyses the root cause of global warming. It categorically states that it is caused by emission of carbon dioxide into the environment. Like the other text, it holds to the view that human activities are responsible for the emission of the gases into the environment. It highlights the motivations which have driven scientists into trying to predict the emission of the green gases into the environment. An argument on the importance of predicting the emission of the green gases into the environment is brought into the limelight. The prediction is significant in the manner in which most countries in the world will alter their economic practices in order to reduce the amount of green gases reaching the atmosphere. The book draws a conclusion that measures should be mitigated to curb the rise in, and reduce the amount of green gases reaching the atmosphere. HCI Theories" Please respond to the following: Imagine you are the manager of a medium-sized IT department. While walking through the hall one day, you overhear a senior- level software developer telling a newly hired developer to focus on improving his coding skills rather than learning about theories related to human-computer interaction. Take a position on whether you agree or disagree with the senior software developer. Support your decision. Unfortunately; I cannot side with the senior-level software developer on his viewpoint on most important focus. Coding skills are obviously important for software developers; however, there are other concepts that should not be overlooked. Without understanding how a user is most likely going to interact with software there is no reason to begin developing a new program. Human-computer interaction, HCI, was brought forward when computer use moved from a rather small amount of users to anyone being able to interact with a computer (Carroll, 2015). There was a very quick realization that there was no way every personal user would easily learn how to interact with a computer; therefore, HCI was developed to provide a push for usability for all. Because the point of HCI is to ensure developers have a grasp on how a user will interact with a piece of technology it becomes a vital part of design and development, well, should be if taking the proper approach. HCI
  • 6. is extremely important for the good of the product as well as ease of use for the user. Looking back I remember how difficult some people found understanding the interaction process with a computer. I cannot imagine how it would have ended had people not taken the time to study the interaction process and worked to streamlining it for as many people as possible. This is a critical understanding every developer needs to take the time to focus on prior to continuing on with his or her career. Reference: Carroll, J. (2015). Human Computer Interaction. Retrieved from https://www.interaction-design.org/literature/book/the- encyclopedia-of-human-computer-interaction-2nd-ed/human- computer-interaction-brief-intro From the e-Activity, discuss the idea that all applications have to be visually consistent. Argue whether you agree or disagree with the idea and why. The thought of consistency has drastically changed over the years. In the beginning consistency meant everything looked the same as well as functioned the same. John Grubber in the video we were to watch explained that it was truly a uniformity that was being followed rather than consistency. The reason for this was that every single application appeared the same down to where the close button appeared on the header. This is great when you truly do not desire functionality of a system to grow and evolve; however, developers soon realized that users are not as unable to manage changes in appearance so long as there is consistency in function. Changing the shape of a button, color used to highlight when utilizing a drop menu, or size did not change how easily a user moved from one version or application to another. Functionally consistent is the focus that needs to be met when designing. Another important aspect is that it is not just application to application, but within an application as well. A user does become custom to where something is or how a specific bottom functions; therefore, changing the function or placement of something from screen to screen within the
  • 7. application can and will cause issues. A good example is a bank app I have on my phone. On one of the screens the menu came from the bottom but on the next it moved in from the side. This becomes frustrating when switching between and attempting to remember which place the menu needs accessed from. A simple focus on consistency would have prompted a change to this somewhat minor detail that does have effect on the user. (I utilized the video for week 2's e-Activity found at http://vimeo.com/21742166?ab for the basis of this post) Imagine you are leading a team of designers for a new software product. During the kickoff meeting, the team starts to discuss design guidelines. About half of the team complains that guidelines can be too specific, incomplete, hard to apply, and sometimes wrong. The other half feels that building on experience from design leaders contributes to steady improvements. Take a stance on this debate and support your position. Then discuss how you would solve this conflict to get your meeting back on track. When developing a new software the biggest issue that developers face is that when they create the software they do not think of the needs of the customer. What this means is a programmer can develop a software that can do the job but if it’s not easy to use then it will lose the interest of the customers and what the software was really attended for. The first thing that needs to be done is what exactly this software is for. Second will be who this software is attend for, then lastly when developing the software an agile approach will be needed. By using the agile approach you are getting the customers involved and have them use the program. From there changes can be made by the customer’s recommendations and by the programmer which at the end comes the final product of a well developed software. Of the eight principles of design, called “Golden Rules” (strive for consistency, cater to universal usability, offer informative
  • 8. feedback, design dialogues to yield closure, prevent errors, permit easy reversal of actions, support internal locus of control, and reduce short-term memory load) choose the one that is most important and create an argument supporting your choice. Use specific examples to support your argument. Of the eight golden rules mention here I would have to go with, “Strive for consistency” I bring this up because it is a well- known fact that when a software company wants to improve on what they have they like to change everything. One company that is very big on changing how their software works is Microsoft. The reason why I bring up Microsoft because at my current company we deal with their products daily and dread the new upgrades. Reason why is because of the constant changes that they do to their software and their OS. Let’s look Microsoft Office 2007 and 2013, both products does the same function but the UI are completely different. Because of this massive change in the UI clients are force to relearn everything and have to go searching for tools that were move to a different location or has been completely removed. Another issue dealing with Microsoft is their OS, when they first release Windows 8, it had a very bad reception. No one wanted because it was aim more towards tablets than a PC, and it didn’t recognize a lot of hardware such as high end video cards and sound cards. Because of these issues MS had to go back to the drawing board and redeveloped their OS which is now Windows 10.
