This document summarizes customer interviews with US high school students about college preparation. It found that while students are interested in getting into the "right" school and gaining an advantage, they do not actually view college prep as a process. Instead, it is seen as a flood of tasks that need to be completed. Students also admit to procrastinating and being busy. As a result, the assumptions that college prep is seen as a process and that students will proactively engage were found to be invalid. The document recommends repositioning the product to focus on not missing deadlines and using frequent emails with alerts and tips to better engage students.
