Project Description
An 800 dwelling urban expansion development with associated
Local Centre (including retail, community hall, 60 bed care /
nursing home, medical centre and public house), sports pavilion
with playing fields, extensive areas of Open Space and an Area
of Nature Conservation. The Abbotswood Consortium appointed
WYG in October 2010.
Services Provided
With outline planning consent and a S106 Agreement secured in January
2010, WYG's initial role was to review and progress clearance of pre-
commencement conditions, to develop and agree with the Consortium a
programme for delivery of enabling works (including extensive mitigation
works to protect great crested newts) and first phase Main
Infrastructure, coordination of consultants to obtain the required
reserved matters planning consent for Main Infrastructure packages, and
developing a utility provision strategy.
WYG sought tenders and made recommendations for the appointment of
civils and landscape contractors and has managed the delivery of Main
Infrastructure in a timely manner to meet planning / S106 requirements
and to service development parcels to meet the house building
programme - all under testing ecological constraint.
A number of associated off-site highway improvements under S278
Agreements have been / are also being carried out under the
management of WYG.
