La Fondazione Innovazione Urbana (Fundación Innovación Urbana) es un organismo creado por la ciudad de Bologna en estrecha colaboración con la Universidad como estructura-puente entre el Ayuntamiento y la ciudadanía. Nace para responder al reto de diseñar nuevas formas de creación de políticas públicas. La Fondazione tiene tres líneas de trabajo principales: la Oficina de Imaginación Cívica (con la misión de activar procesos de escucha, colaboración, participación y co-diseño de proyectos y políticas públicas de la ciudad); la construcción del relato colectivo de la ciudad sobre sí misma (a través del Urban Center); el análisis y la visualización de los datos puestos a disposición por la revolución digital sobre las transformaciones urbanas (a través de Cartografare il presente).

The speaker will present the background for The First European Conference on Voluntary Organisations in the Field of Cultural Heritage, which to place in Oslo 21 – 24 September 2000. This was a result of a process within the Cultural Heritage Committee of the Council of Europe. The choice of Oslo as venue was based on the fact that The Norwegian Society for the Preservation of Ancient Monuments has been continuously active since 1844. Norway also has a very clear political consensus on the importance voluntary organisations have for consolidating democracy as a governing principle. The results of the Oslo conference were used to draft a declaration on the role of voluntary organisations in the field of cultural heritage, which was adopted by the Vth Council of Europe conference for ministers responsible for cultural heritage in Portoroz in Slovenia in 2001.

The Danish libraries, the Association, the think tank and The Economic Value

Today we have visitors from a Turkey. Therefore, we have made a presentation of the Danish Library Association and our special organization's structure. We will also present the Danish think tank Future Libraries and their study Economic Value of Public Libraries Libraries of the Future – Knowledge, debate and Network The Danish Think Tank has the ambition to: • Produce knowledge, analysis and cross-disciplinary activities about the future role of the libraries • Generate professional, public and political debate and awareness of the role of libraries now and in the future A bottom-up initiative The Danish libraries face many challenges such as digitalization and changes in expectations and demands on both physical and digital services; lack of public awareness of library services, changes in library user behavior, lack of political awareness and changes in the role of the librarian. The Think Tank was initiated by the Danish Library Association (DB). The Think Tank is a two-year project, started October 2012, and co-financed by the participating libraries, library organizations and central library players The Economic Value of Public Libraries The Danish Think Tank Libraries of the Future & Copenhagen Economics has conducted the first study on the economic impact of the Danish public library. The Danish public libraries provide multiple services to the Danish public today, which overall seems to be well received by the public. However, the contributions are often measured in terms of library use (e.g. how many books were borrowed) and user satisfaction surveys, which are far from adequate when we want to discuss the role libraries play in modern society. ACCESS Helsinki

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) organized an EU-wide seminar of the European Commission-funded project entitled “Active Citizenship: Enhancing Political Participation of Migrant Youth” (ACCESS), which IOM Helsinki has implemented during 2013-2015 in cooperation with partners in Czech Republic, Finland, France, Romania and Spain. The purpose of the EU-wide seminar was to disseminate the project results, in terms of how the project has contributed to the capacity building of migrant youth and partner municipalities involved. Furthermore, the seminar gave insights gained through the Peer Review’s conducted and launch the Online Self-Assessment Tool and the Discussion Paper produced by the project.
