Aaborani India International sources and supplies various textile fabrics including cotton, silk, linen, wool, bamboo blends and accessories. They import semi-bleached fabrics in 20 foot containers against export orders under advance import licenses. For finished fabrics, a minimum order quantity of 5000 meters is required with 1000 meters per color. Tirupur in Tamil Nadu is one of India's largest textile export hubs, but its rapid industrialization has led to severe environmental degradation. [1] The 700 dyeing units in Tirupur discharge 100 million litres of untreated effluent daily, polluting the groundwater, soil, and Noyyal River. [2] The government has ordered units to install reverse osmosis systems to treat waste, but many have not complied. [3] While some remedial efforts have been taken, continued monitoring is needed to prevent further damage to the environment and public health.
Pumice stones are traditionally used in stone washing denim to give it a worn look. Pumice stones scrape dye from the fabric's surface during washing, creating a faded appearance. However, pumice stones can damage machines and fabrics. Synthetic stones and techniques like enzyme washing and acid washing were developed as alternatives. Enzyme washing uses cellulase enzymes that partially remove surface fibers and dye, similar to pumice stones but with less damage. Acid washing bleaches localized areas of indigo dye for high color contrasts. These alternative techniques aim to achieve a stone washed look while reducing pollution and costs compared to traditional pumice stone washing.

Knitting is a process of fabric production that involves interlooping yarns to form a fabric or garment. It can be done by hand or machine, but the basic principle of pulling a new loop through an old loop remains the same. Knitting originated over 1000 years ago and has since evolved from finger knitting to include machines with needles. Key terms in knitting include wales (vertical columns), courses (horizontal rows), stitch density (number of loops per area), and stitch length. Knitting allows for garment production and creates fabrics that are more comfortable, crease-resistant, and extensible than woven fabrics.
This document discusses various types of knitted fabrics. It begins by explaining that knitting involves interlocking loops of yarn or thread to form cloth or crafts. There are two main types of knitting: weft knitting uses horizontal yarn fed into needles, while warp knitting uses vertical yarn loops. Specific weft knits discussed include single jersey, purl, rib, and interlock stitches. Warp knits highlighted are tricot, raschel, and milanese.
