Our documentary uses and develops conventions of real crime documentaries. We conducted research including questionnaires and focus groups to understand our target audience's preferences. Based on this, our documentary includes interviews, archive footage, and a local voiceover. We challenge conventions by using a local accent instead of well-known presenters. During production, we learned how to use editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro to arrange footage, add titles, and manipulate video and audio to tell our story. Ancillary materials like a magazine review and billboard were created to promote the documentary. Overall, we gained experience with media technologies to construct and research our documentary.
