This document discusses a typology of artificial intelligence experiences in tourism and their implications. It identifies two main types of AI experiences - AI-mediated experiences that involve direct interaction with AI systems, and AI-enabled experiences where AI supports the experience in the background. For AI-mediated experiences, it considers factors like whether the AI is embodied, mobile, how interaction occurs, and whether it is confined or ubiquitous. The implications for both tourists and tourism providers are then discussed for each type of AI experience.
