A young couple moves into a new neighborhood. The wife criticizes her neighbor's laundry hanging on the line, saying it is not very clean and she doesn't know how to wash correctly. This goes on for a month until one day the wife notices the laundry is clean and comments that the neighbor must have learned how to wash properly. The husband then reveals that he had simply cleaned their windows that morning, implying that the wife's critical view of the neighbor was due to her own state of mind rather than the neighbor's laundry. The story suggests that one should check one's own mindset before judging others.
An ant works hard every day without supervision. A lion in charge notices this and thinks the ant could produce even more with oversight. He hires a cockroach supervisor who implements extensive paperwork and meetings, taking up the ant's time. More managers are brought on, growing the bureaucracy. Production decreases but the managers justify their roles. An audit concludes the department is overstaffed, and the ant is fired for a poor attitude.

2. What is a Mother? A mother is someone who guides and inspires. She helps us to attain our dreams and desires. Wisdom and insight are part of her way, and her faith in her children brightens their days.
3. All mothers are rich when they love their children. There are no poor mothers, no ugly ones, no old ones. Their love is always the most beautiful of joys. — Maurice Maeterlinck (1862-1949)
4. She broke the bread into two fragments and gave them to the children, who ate with avidity. "She hath kept none for herself," grumbled the sergeant. "Because she is not hungry," said a soldier. "Because she is a mother," said the sergeant. — Victor Hugo (1802-1885)
5. What a mother can do … My mother said to me, "If you become a soldier, you'll be a general; if you become a monk, you'll end up as the pope." Instead I became a painter and wound up as Picasso.
6. The boy's mother read the note and said, "My son Tom isn't 'too stupid to learn.' I'll teach him myself." And so she did. When Tom died many years later, the people of the United States of America paid tribute to him by turning off the nation's lights for one full minute. You see, this Tom had invented the light bulb — and not only that, but motion pictures and the record player. In all, Thomas Edison had more than one thousand patents to his credit. A partially deaf boy came home from school one day carrying a note from officials at the school. The note suggested that the parents take the boy out of school, claiming that he was "too stupid to learn." My mother was the making of me. — Thomas A. Edison (1847-1931)
7. An ounce of mother is worth a pound of clergy. You may have tangible wealth untold; Caskets of jewels and coffers of gold. Richer than I you can never be — I had a mother who read to me. — Strickland Gillian (1869-1954)
8. — Janet Mary Riley (1915- ), U.S. Lawyer and Writer The role of a mother is probably the most important career a woman can have.
9. Plenty of roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows, brothers and sisters, aunts and cousins... Most of all the other beautiful things in life come by twos and threes, by dozens and hundreds. — Kate Douglas Wiggin (1856-1923), U.S. Author and Educator ...but only one MOTHER in the whole world.
10. — George Eliot (1819-1880), British Novelist Life began with waking up and loving my mother's face.
11. — Elizabeth Cady Stanton (1815-1902) Motherhood is the most important of all the professions... ...requiring more knowledge than any other department in human affairs.
12. Feel free to share with others! The hand that rocks the cradle Is the hand that rules the world. — William Ross Wallace (1819-1881), U.S. Poet and Songwriter
