1. A Rose for Emily
A Rose for EmilyIt begins in part one in recounting how Emily died and as the whole town
attended her funeral. The family had been exempted from paying taxes which disturbed
every administration which came in. Part one ends when she tells her servant to remove the
men from his compound. Part two begins with an official inquiry on the taxation after the
death of Emily’ s father. The mounting pressure on the Emily’ s odor property makes judge
declare the sprinkling of the lams along the foundation home. The increasing reclusive
Emily began to worry the townspeople who thought she could be like her aunt who became
insane (Faulkner, Para 3-4).Part two of the short story ends as Emily turns thirty and single,
her father dies, and she denies when approached by men who came for condolence. She
later agrees and accepts the death of her father and allows his burial. Section three
continues with Emily developing illness after the death of her father and starts being
vulnerable for men. It ends which compromised reputation as she is in an affair and later
goes to buy arsenic drug with no explanation how she would use it. Section four begins with
Emily performing several rituals with Homer as they are frequently spotted. Her fiancé
absent in town was thought to be a plan meant to move Emily from town which was never
the case. Homer comes, and they get locked in their house and never to be seen until she
dies. The story ends as Emily’ s body is laid in a parlor and attended by her cousin and
others at the time of service. The door to the upstairs rooms re broken after several years of
sealing, and it is frozen to give room for a weIDing. They find Homers body next to in a
