Michael Chik introduces the Lean Startup methodology, which advocates creating small, testable products to validate assumptions with customer feedback before fully developing products. The Lean Startup process involves listing assumptions, understanding customers, and getting a minimum viable product into the world to collect evidence and adjust the product direction as needed. Key concepts include hypotheses, pivoting, problem-solution fit, and product-market fit. Metrics like acquisition, activation, retention, referral, and revenue help determine if the product is solving customer problems.

The Minimum Viable Product (or MVP) is the first shippable version of a product containing purely core features, distributed as a test release in order to create useful feedback for the most basic features. Planning for a MVP release requires the Product Owner to know how to organize and prioritize a dense backlog of features, but in an agile environment with a diverse team and uniquely talented vendors we posit they need not do it alone.
Different lenses for knowing what MVP means to your internal and external team so you can know if you are building the right thing.
What must the MVP consist of to be meaningful to the target user? What’s the best way to phase out the release of everything else? What can be cut completely? Basic agile/lean design project management techniques. Important conflict resolution and emotional management techniques. How to sell it with a "Flexible Scope Retainer".

Kubair Shirazee discusses agile principles and how to implement an agile approach. Some key principles of agility include keeping processes simple, planning but not blindly following plans, embracing change, failing fast to fix problems early, and using metrics to measure outcomes. When adopting agile, companies should obey the principles without being rigid, and emphasize innovating, experimenting, adapting, and inspecting results. The best way to implement agility may differ for each company.

Agile for Peace as presented at the Agile Lean Network 2015 SofiaKubair Shirazee
With international development programs seen as hit and miss exercises and foreign aid failing to create the impact our policies desire the question is why are non-governmental organisations not adopting Agile/SCRUM in mass to design and deliver nontechnical programs that deliver immediate and lasting benefits.
Over the course of 2 years Peace Through Prosperity; a social enterprise has designed, prototyped, deployed an Agile, data driven social transformation program to alleviate poverty amongst the working poor and provide food security to the marginalised and vulnerable in conflict affected regions.
Peace Through Prosperity has achieved phenomenal success by adopting a user driven design approach and a Scrum based implementation framework.
This presentation has been slightly modified for slide share.

Using Empathy Maps to Better Understand your Jury - Drupal Camp London 2015Kubair Shirazee
Requirements gathering has come of age and those at the frontier continue to adapt it to a changing environment, where clients, stakeholders and users are better informed, empowered and in most cases know what they need.
In this environment as analysts we have to deploy tools from across verticals and add value by cross pollinating our own experiences from across the board.
The aim of this session is to introduce beginner and intermediate level analysts, account, project managers and business development leads to an innovative analytical tool that you ought to have in your tool box, and to do so with practical examples - this is an interactive session by the end of which you shall have an appreciation of Empathy maps, when and how to use them by building basic models during the session itself (all required materials will be provided).
The specific model to be covered: + Empathy maps to gain an understanding of your prospects, clients and stakeholders (Jury) to help get them on boarded, to help close the sale or to assist in identifying champions early on in the process that can be leveraged to get organization wide buy in. The learning objectives are to equip delegates with knowledge of a new and innovative business modelling tool that will enable them to better understand their prospects, clients, stakeholders and end users and thereby deliver beyond their expectations.
Better understanding your prospects, clients, stakeholders and end users usin...Kubair Shirazee
Empathy maps allow you to build and understand the worldview of your audience, their pain points and motivations thereby enabling you to build products and provide services they actually want.

It supports all the popular mobile application binaries and source code formats built for Android and iOS devices. In addition to automated security assessment, it also offers an interactive testing environment to build and execute scenario based test/fuzz cases against the application.
This talk covers:
Using MobSF for static analysis of mobile applications.
Interactive dynamic security assessment of Android and iOS applications.
Solving Mobile app CTF challenges.
Reverse engineering and runtime analysis of Mobile malware.
How to shift left and integrate MobSF/mobsfscan SAST and DAST in your build pipeline.
How information systems are built or acquired puts information, which is what they should be about, in a secondary place. Our language adapted accordingly, and we no longer talk about information systems but applications. Applications evolved in a way to break data into diverse fragments, tightly coupled with applications and expensive to integrate. The result is technical debt, which is re-paid by taking even bigger "loans", resulting in an ever-increasing technical debt. Software engineering and procurement practices work in sync with market forces to maintain this trend. This talk demonstrates how natural this situation is. The question is: can something be done to reverse the trend?
Introduction of Cybersecurity with OSS at Code Europe 2024Hiroshi SHIBATA
I develop the Ruby programming language, RubyGems, and Bundler, which are package managers for Ruby. Today, I will introduce how to enhance the security of your application using open-source software (OSS) examples from Ruby and RubyGems.
The first topic is CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures). I have published CVEs many times. But what exactly is a CVE? I'll provide a basic understanding of CVEs and explain how to detect and handle vulnerabilities in OSS.
Next, let's discuss package managers. Package managers play a critical role in the OSS ecosystem. I'll explain how to manage library dependencies in your application.
I'll share insights into how the Ruby and RubyGems core team works to keep our ecosystem safe. By the end of this talk, you'll have a better understanding of how to safeguard your code.
