Editor's Notes

  • #9 The Port has been doing very well and has bucked the national economic downturn.Clockwise from top left:Roberson building —the first new building Port San Antonio created. Customers there include Booz Allen Hamilton and the district office of Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison.Gore Completions Hangar, built in 2005 by the Port an originally 100,000 square feet added 43,500 square feet in 2010 as the company’s business grows.-Fiesta Warehouse at East Kelly Railport—this is the side where trucks depart. On the other side trains can unload directly onto a platform.-Triple-S Steel – An industrial steel distribution center built in 2007 with an award winning design by Lake Flato Architects-Building 171, or the “horizontal skyscraper” where the Port is managing over $100 million in upgrades and 12 Air Force agencies and 3000 personnel are occupying in 2010.-The Port’s headquarters building—within a speculative warehouse/office complex the Port developed in 2007-08. The finish-out of that interior is now Gold LEED certified by the U.S. Green Building Council for sustainability-(Center photo) – ACS, a business services company owned by Xerox. What you see here is a former military warehouse from WWII that underwent 10 million in upgrades to deliver a modern building to ACS developed to the highest sustainability standards and allowing the company to add 300 employees from the previous facility it occupied at the Port for the last 10 years
