This document summarizes a pilot study on the effects of sleep on thinking skills. The study involved surveying 20 people about their sleep habits and performance on tests. Participants were divided into two groups: one that got enough sleep and one that experienced sleep deprivation. Both groups were assessed on 7 thinking criteria. The results showed no significant impairment for the group that got enough sleep, while the sleep deprived group showed over 26% impairment. The study concludes the instrument developed to measure thinking skills was validated and recommends a larger full study is conducted to further analyze the physiological effects of sleep on thinking skills.
