A model argumentative essay
The issue of whether we should allow marine parks to stay open
has been widely debated in our community recently. It is an
important issue because it concerns fundamental moral and
economic questions about the way we use our native wildlife. A
variety of different arguments have been put forward about this
issue. This essay will consider arguments for having marine
parks and point to some of the problems with these views. It
will then put forward reasons for the introduction of laws which
prohibit these unnecessary and cruel institutions.
It has been argued that dolphin parks provide the only
opportunity for much of the public to see marine mammals
(Smith, 1992). Most Australians live in cities and never get to
see these animals. It is claimed that marine parks allow the
average Australian to appreciate our marine wildlife. However,
as Smith states, dolphins, whales and seals can be viewed in the
wild at a number of places on the Australian coast (Smith,
1992). In fact, there are more places where they can be seen in
the wild than places where they can be seen in captivity.
Moreover, most Australians would have to travel less to get to
these locations than they would to get to the marine parks on
the Gold Coast. In addition, places where there are wild marine
mammals do not charge an exorbitant entry fee - they are free.
Dr Alison Lane, the director of the Cairns Marine Science
Institute, contends that we need marine parks for scientific
research (Williams, 1999). She argues that much of our
knowledge of marine mammals comes from studies which were
undertaken at marine parks. The knowledge which is obtained at
marine parks, so this argument goes, can be useful for planning
for the conservation of marine mammal species. However, as
Jones (1991) explains, park research is only useful for
understanding captive animals and is not useful for learning
about animals in the wild. Dolphin and whale biology changes
in marine park conditions. Their diets are different, they have
significantly lower life spans and they are more prone to
disease. In addition, marine mammals in dolphin parks are
trained and this means that their patterns of social behaviour are
changed. Therefore research undertaken at marine parks is
generally not reliable.
It is the contention of the Marine Park Owners Association that
marine parks attract a lot of foreign tourists (Ashbury, 2001).
This position goes on to assert that these tourists spend a lot of
money, increasing our foreign exchange earnings and assisting
our national balance of payments. However, foreign tourists
would still come to Australia if the parks were closed down.
Indeed, surveys of overseas tourists show that they come here
for a variety of other reasons and not to visit places like
Seaworld (Wallander, 2010). Tourists come here to see our
native wildlife in its natural environment and not to see it in
cages and cement pools. They can see animals in those
condition in their own countries Furthermore, we should be
promoting our beautiful natural environment to tourists and not
the ugly concrete marine park venues.
Dolphin parks are unnecessary and cruel. The dolphins and
whales in these parks are kept in very small, cramped ponds,
whereas in the wild they are used to roaming long distances
across the seas. Furthermore, the concrete walls of the pools
interfere with the animals' sonar systems of communication. In
addition, keeping them in pools is a terrible restriction of the
freedom of fellow creatures who may have very high levels of
intelligence and a sophisticated language ability. Moreover,
there are many documented cases of marine mammals helping
humans who are in danger at sea or helping fisherman with their
work.
In conclusion, these parks should be closed, or at the very least,
no new animals should be captured for marine parks in the
future. Our society is no longer prepared to tolerate unnecessary
cruelty to animals for science and entertainment. If we continue
with our past crimes against these creatures we will be
remembered as cruel and inhuman by the generations of the
future.

Research Paper
Outline Template
Topic: Increasingly, people get their news from a wide variety
of non-traditional sources, such as Facebook, Twitter, lifestyle
shows, and talk shows. Many experts argue that such non-
traditional sources of news add positively to news from
traditional news sources, such as published newspaper and news
broadcasts. Agree or disagree with this argument, using
research to support your position.Introduction
Hook: Knowing and gaining the knowledge about the world as a
news platform is the best source for everyone. Comment by
Gokhan Guven: Hook is a littie too general and bland. Try a
question or a quotation.
Thesis Statement
Agree with the given statement which shows the choices of
different resource gives more opportunity to collect the
information around the world and it’s help for news channels or
press reporters to increase the sale newspaper, society keep in
touch with old school news delivery system and people who are
not using advance technology they still familiar from
surrounded activities. Comment by Gokhan Guven: I’m
confused. Your thesis statement needs three things – the topic,
your stance (do you think non-traditional news sources add
positively to traditional news sources or not), and the three
reasons for your stance. I’m not sure of your stance here
1st Major Point
The first argument against to increase the sales of newspaper
Comment by Gokhan Guven: Again I’m confused – this
does not answer the essay topic. You should choose a reason
that is connected to the topic of Non-traditional news sources
add positively to traditional news sources. This info doesn’t
make sense
1. stilling the same news and rewrite it--- Facebook e-news look
up next day in the news paper (Asur and Huberman, 2010)
2. Easy sources found sitting under the celling rather than doing
job outdoor to collect the news--- Just renovate the social media
news without searching the news is right or wrong (Uscinski,
Joseph, 2014)
Counter Argument: Paper less delivery is more convenience for
save environment and less cutting tree helps to make fresh
surrounded.
Rebuttal: However, Papers are under recycling process so it’s
useful for reused (Carreño, & Suárez, 2010)
Conclusion & Lead-ln : In results, Traditional sources using the
non-traditional sources for updating and collecting the data very
quick and always keep on eye on those platform which delivered
major news surrounded.
2st Major Point
The second argument against traditional news delivery system
keep trying to maintain popularity even though launching the e-
news system in the world.
1. Providing some fun or extra-curricular activities focusing in
all age people (Uscinski, & Joseph, 2014)
2. writing helpful and useful reading practice for English
learner students or people (Kim,2018) Comment by Gokhan
Guven: These are two different things – choose one – I would
stick with the fact that non-traditional news sources are always
evolving
Counter Argument: Raising hand against the E-news are better
option for fun activities and English language learning.
Comment by Gokhan Guven: Counter-argument has to go
against your argument – you did not do this
Rebuttal: To claim that argument paper-based delivery and
Television serving news are best option for who wants learn
free of charges rather than paying expensive cost for internet
data in traditional method. (Hwang, & Rho; 2018) Comment by
Gokhan Guven: Rebuttal is tied to your argument! I don’t think
you understand the differences between main argument, counter
argument and rebuttal – please look up the definitons
Conclusion & Lead-ln : All in one, does not matter if non-
traditional news channels serving the news electronically with
leisure time activity and making interest for English language
learner but Newspaper and News channels serving better
facilitates and vocabulary for the society.
3st Major Point
The third argument to claim that traditional news system still
user friendly who are not using non-traditional methods such as
Smartphones, tablet and laptops. Comment by Gokhan
Guven: You are flipping between non-traditional and traditional
sources constantly. It’s very confusing. Stick to one side and
give three strong arguments for that side!
1. People who don’t have to learn how to operate and managing
the laptop and tablet they can collect the news after reading the
newspaper and listening the broadcasted news. (Parcell,2011)
2. Smart phone and Laptops are expensive for learning the e-
news system. (Suh,2019)
Counter Argument: On the other side of the coin, Now a days
many institutes and schools available for learning electronic
gadgets and they provide the instruments like smartphones and
laptops are free of cost.
Rebuttal: Taking advantages of those people who really need to
learn about something new but that institutes are hiddenly
charge for gadgets price once person enrolled in the institute.
(Jong, 2019)
Conclusion: Afterall, Rather than using the electroninc gadagets
and process for knowing about the news, people prefers to go
sheet with family and enjoy the television news channels.
Conclusion:
To sieves out, in 20th century people still loves and having
interest for traditional news delivery system because the news
channels and press reporters using the non-traditional news
platforms such as Facebook, twitter and mimic shows for
collecting the news and they positively analyzed the news then
they serving to the world.

A model argumentative essayThe issue of whether we should allow m.docx

  • 1. A model argumentative essay The issue of whether we should allow marine parks to stay open has been widely debated in our community recently. It is an important issue because it concerns fundamental moral and economic questions about the way we use our native wildlife. A variety of different arguments have been put forward about this issue. This essay will consider arguments for having marine parks and point to some of the problems with these views. It will then put forward reasons for the introduction of laws which prohibit these unnecessary and cruel institutions. It has been argued that dolphin parks provide the only opportunity for much of the public to see marine mammals (Smith, 1992). Most Australians live in cities and never get to see these animals. It is claimed that marine parks allow the average Australian to appreciate our marine wildlife. However, as Smith states, dolphins, whales and seals can be viewed in the wild at a number of places on the Australian coast (Smith, 1992). In fact, there are more places where they can be seen in the wild than places where they can be seen in captivity. Moreover, most Australians would have to travel less to get to these locations than they would to get to the marine parks on the Gold Coast. In addition, places where there are wild marine mammals do not charge an exorbitant entry fee - they are free. Dr Alison Lane, the director of the Cairns Marine Science Institute, contends that we need marine parks for scientific research (Williams, 1999). She argues that much of our knowledge of marine mammals comes from studies which were undertaken at marine parks. The knowledge which is obtained at marine parks, so this argument goes, can be useful for planning for the conservation of marine mammal species. However, as Jones (1991) explains, park research is only useful for understanding captive animals and is not useful for learning about animals in the wild. Dolphin and whale biology changes
  • 2. in marine park conditions. Their diets are different, they have significantly lower life spans and they are more prone to disease. In addition, marine mammals in dolphin parks are trained and this means that their patterns of social behaviour are changed. Therefore research undertaken at marine parks is generally not reliable. It is the contention of the Marine Park Owners Association that marine parks attract a lot of foreign tourists (Ashbury, 2001). This position goes on to assert that these tourists spend a lot of money, increasing our foreign exchange earnings and assisting our national balance of payments. However, foreign tourists would still come to Australia if the parks were closed down. Indeed, surveys of overseas tourists show that they come here for a variety of other reasons and not to visit places like Seaworld (Wallander, 2010). Tourists come here to see our native wildlife in its natural environment and not to see it in cages and cement pools. They can see animals in those condition in their own countries Furthermore, we should be promoting our beautiful natural environment to tourists and not the ugly concrete marine park venues. Dolphin parks are unnecessary and cruel. The dolphins and whales in these parks are kept in very small, cramped ponds, whereas in the wild they are used to roaming long distances across the seas. Furthermore, the concrete walls of the pools interfere with the animals' sonar systems of communication. In addition, keeping them in pools is a terrible restriction of the freedom of fellow creatures who may have very high levels of intelligence and a sophisticated language ability. Moreover, there are many documented cases of marine mammals helping humans who are in danger at sea or helping fisherman with their work. In conclusion, these parks should be closed, or at the very least, no new animals should be captured for marine parks in the
  • 3. future. Our society is no longer prepared to tolerate unnecessary cruelty to animals for science and entertainment. If we continue with our past crimes against these creatures we will be remembered as cruel and inhuman by the generations of the future. http://www.ltn.lv/~markir/essaywriting/modelmp.htm Name: Research Paper Outline Template Topic: Increasingly, people get their news from a wide variety of non-traditional sources, such as Facebook, Twitter, lifestyle shows, and talk shows. Many experts argue that such non- traditional sources of news add positively to news from traditional news sources, such as published newspaper and news broadcasts. Agree or disagree with this argument, using research to support your position.Introduction Hook: Knowing and gaining the knowledge about the world as a news platform is the best source for everyone. Comment by Gokhan Guven: Hook is a littie too general and bland. Try a question or a quotation. Thesis Statement Agree with the given statement which shows the choices of different resource gives more opportunity to collect the information around the world and it’s help for news channels or press reporters to increase the sale newspaper, society keep in touch with old school news delivery system and people who are not using advance technology they still familiar from surrounded activities. Comment by Gokhan Guven: I’m confused. Your thesis statement needs three things – the topic, your stance (do you think non-traditional news sources add positively to traditional news sources or not), and the three reasons for your stance. I’m not sure of your stance here
  • 4. 1st Major Point The first argument against to increase the sales of newspaper Comment by Gokhan Guven: Again I’m confused – this does not answer the essay topic. You should choose a reason that is connected to the topic of Non-traditional news sources add positively to traditional news sources. This info doesn’t make sense 1. stilling the same news and rewrite it--- Facebook e-news look up next day in the news paper (Asur and Huberman, 2010) 2. Easy sources found sitting under the celling rather than doing job outdoor to collect the news--- Just renovate the social media news without searching the news is right or wrong (Uscinski, Joseph, 2014) Counter Argument: Paper less delivery is more convenience for save environment and less cutting tree helps to make fresh surrounded. Rebuttal: However, Papers are under recycling process so it’s useful for reused (Carreño, & Suárez, 2010) Conclusion & Lead-ln : In results, Traditional sources using the non-traditional sources for updating and collecting the data very quick and always keep on eye on those platform which delivered major news surrounded. 2st Major Point The second argument against traditional news delivery system keep trying to maintain popularity even though launching the e- news system in the world. 1. Providing some fun or extra-curricular activities focusing in all age people (Uscinski, & Joseph, 2014) 2. writing helpful and useful reading practice for English learner students or people (Kim,2018) Comment by Gokhan
  • 5. Guven: These are two different things – choose one – I would stick with the fact that non-traditional news sources are always evolving Counter Argument: Raising hand against the E-news are better option for fun activities and English language learning. Comment by Gokhan Guven: Counter-argument has to go against your argument – you did not do this Rebuttal: To claim that argument paper-based delivery and Television serving news are best option for who wants learn free of charges rather than paying expensive cost for internet data in traditional method. (Hwang, & Rho; 2018) Comment by Gokhan Guven: Rebuttal is tied to your argument! I don’t think you understand the differences between main argument, counter argument and rebuttal – please look up the definitons Conclusion & Lead-ln : All in one, does not matter if non- traditional news channels serving the news electronically with leisure time activity and making interest for English language learner but Newspaper and News channels serving better facilitates and vocabulary for the society. 3st Major Point The third argument to claim that traditional news system still user friendly who are not using non-traditional methods such as Smartphones, tablet and laptops. Comment by Gokhan Guven: You are flipping between non-traditional and traditional sources constantly. It’s very confusing. Stick to one side and give three strong arguments for that side! 1. People who don’t have to learn how to operate and managing the laptop and tablet they can collect the news after reading the newspaper and listening the broadcasted news. (Parcell,2011) 2. Smart phone and Laptops are expensive for learning the e- news system. (Suh,2019) Counter Argument: On the other side of the coin, Now a days
  • 6. many institutes and schools available for learning electronic gadgets and they provide the instruments like smartphones and laptops are free of cost. Rebuttal: Taking advantages of those people who really need to learn about something new but that institutes are hiddenly charge for gadgets price once person enrolled in the institute. (Jong, 2019) Conclusion: Afterall, Rather than using the electroninc gadagets and process for knowing about the news, people prefers to go sheet with family and enjoy the television news channels. Conclusion: To sieves out, in 20th century people still loves and having interest for traditional news delivery system because the news channels and press reporters using the non-traditional news platforms such as Facebook, twitter and mimic shows for collecting the news and they positively analyzed the news then they serving to the world.
