Know your audience.
Knowing your audience helps
determine your strategy. You need to
show your audience that you respect
them, their wants, their needs and
their challenges. You show your
sense of sincerity in conveying your
speech to your audience.

Adjust your speech or writing
to the context of the situation.

influences what is considered socially
appropriate and how the message is
received. Observe the setting, time
and environment.
PURPOSIVE COMMUNICATION-BSC FIRST

Work on the feedback
 Additionally, audience may ask a
question or let you know if they do not
understand. You may also receive
direct positive or negative feedback

Be Clear
The message should emphasize on a
single purpose/goal at a time thus
shall not cover several ideas/concepts
in a single sentence. It is best to give
the most necessary information when
trying to communicate your idea,
instruction or message.

 The message should be clear and particularly
such that no room for misinterpretation is left.
 When your message is concrete, then your
audience has a clear picture of what you’re
telling them. There are details (but not too
many!) and vivid facts, and there’s laser-like
focus. Your message is solid.

Be Complete
 In a complete message, the audience has
everything they need to be informed and, if
applicable, take action.
