The growing automobile industry and other new industries in the early 20th century improved the U.S. standard of living. New industries like automobiles and consumer products such as Listerine mouthwash and Gillette razors emerged, driving economic growth and increasing availability of goods that raised living standards for many Americans. These new mass-produced products became widely available and affordable to more of the population.
