Gregory Karelas is the Country Director for Nyaya Health in Nepal. He starts his day by answering emails and making plans from his office. He then has breakfast with the hospital staff in the kitchen. In the morning, he conducts a staff meeting. Throughout the day, he examines construction projects, interviews candidates, discusses landscaping and future renovations, and finalizes financial guidelines with the accountant. In the evening, he has supper with friends in the local village.

3. 8:38am—Gregory takes his breakfast with the staff of Bayalpata Hospital
in the hospital staff kitchen, where he takes all of his meals.

4. 9:32am—Gregory conducts the morning hospital staff meeting.

5. 12:39pm – Gregory examines
the construction of a new
custom-made L-shaped table
for the Emergency Room
clinical station.

6. 2:49pm – Gregory interviews
a candidate for a new staff
physician job (standing
outside on the hill next to the
Hospital, where the mobile
phone network is stronger
than in the office).

7. 3:32pm—Gregory discusses
landscaping work with Budha
dai, Bayalpata Hospital’s
Director of Groundskeeping.

8. 4:14pm – Gregory discusses future site renovations with an engineer from
the local government office, who will help to prepare measurements and
design plans for the new building.

9. 5:28pm—Gregory meets with Accountant Chanakya Uphadya to finalize the
new Bayalpata Hospital Financial Guidelines for the upcoming fiscal year.

10. 8:16pm – Gregory takes supper with his friends Lalit, the Police Inspector,
and long-term Nyaya team member Lal Bahadur Kunwar, at Lalit’s house in
the Bayalpata village.
