 Weekly Professional Staff Meeting
 Weekly Paraprofessional Staff Meeting (w/ RAs)
 Weekly or as needed One on One meetings with
  ADs
 Bi-Weekly One on One Meetings with RAs

 Bi-Weekly Division Meeting

 Monthly In-Service Meetings – 1st Tuesday of each
  month (All ADs, GHCs, RAs)
 Date & Time TBD
 Discuss and plan any department initiatives
 Updates of what is occurring in each area of the
      department
 Information given for weekly staff meeting
     Whole department in attendance
 To be posted at office door and turned in to your ADs
 4 hours per week
 Drop In hours – no meetings or conduct schedule in
    these 4 hours
 set conduct or one-on-one meetings outside of these
    posted hours
 Door open 
 One building walkthrough for each building per week
 These can be at night if desired – good community time
  
 Another option is to combine this walk with the RAs
  when they walk evening rounds
 Look for safety issues, community and floor building
happening, interact with students and staff, etc.
 Take Flex Time “As needed”
 Be conscious of your time management
 No need to track your working hours
 Use flex time appropriately & cover all responsibilities 
 Mondays (and often Tuesdays) are never good for flex
  time days
 Communicate all flex time taken with your ADs
 If class work is demanding one week- communicate with
ADs and work out possible work week/flex time schedule
 Flex Time Example- You worked all day Sunday for Room Draw. You may take some
flex time during the following week and not come in to the office because you
worked over your 25hr/wk with Room Draw responsibilities.
 Please do not ever “email in sick” to your supervisor
 We are looking for direct phone contact with you
when you are taking a sick day
 Leave messages on our voice mail
 If no response from supervisor, call ResEd Office to
    report your sick day
 Be sure to let your ADs know if you are missing any
    important meetings
 Put a note on your office door to reschedule any
  meetings
 When you return to the office, email students who
need to reschedule a meeting with you
 Please answer all email and phone messages within
  2 business days
 Check email and phone messages on a regular basis

 Be aware of the difference between phone, email
  and text message response
 Large email and text message culture here
 Set up boundaries with student staff
 Texting can be a very easy and convenient way to pass
along a message to staff and co-workers
 Please relay time-sensitive and important information
  via a phone call
 When calling one can respond immediately and
efficiently to concerns and get verbal confirmation the
  message was understood
 Beware text messages can be hard to decipher!... Or not
  delivered timely due to service
 Try to check mailbox at ResEd front office once a day
 We will let you know if there are urgent things to pick
  up
 Distribute fliers from your mailbox to your staff to
have posted quickly – many are time sensitive
 Walk around the office, say hi to folks 
 Request vacation time at least 2 weeks in advance
  to your ADs
 Use Auto-Responder on email if you are out more
  than 2 business days
 Life Events – try to report these as early as you
  know about them
 Weddings, Family Reunion, Birthdays, etc.
 Business Casual – no ties necessary
 “Dress Up” for more important meetings

 Jeans on Fridays are okay if you don’t have an
important meeting, candidate on campus, etc.
 Once training has come to a close:
 No more flip flops of any kind!
   No shorts
 There will be other duties as assigned
 5 Hours per week with collateral assignment

 Conduct hearings and follow-up

 Committee Work

 All hands are on deck for large departmental
  programs: Move-in & Move-Out, Staff Training,
  Staff Selection, Room Draw, etc.
