This document analyzes the end-to-end performance of multi-antenna relaying systems over Rayleigh fading channels, focusing on maximum ratio combining techniques. It provides new closed-form expressions for the statistics related to received signal-to-noise ratios (SNR) and examines outage probabilities and average bit error rates for various digital receivers. The findings indicate significant performance improvement when utilizing two antennas at the relay compared to one, while additional antennas offer diminishing returns in high SNR conditions.
