Sitting
Arrangement
questions
involve
arrangement of persons in a circular table, rectangular
table or line arrangement with some given conditions.
In order to solve these type of questions, best
strategy is to develop a rough pictorial diagram. Once
the diagram is complete, questions that follow can be
answered easily.
Circular

(A) FACING CENTRERight - ANTI-CLOCKWISE DIRECTION
Left - CLOCKWISE DIRECTOIN
(A) FACING CENTRERight - ANTI-CLOCKWISE DIRECTION
Left - CLOCKWISE DIRECTOIN
(B) FACING OUTSIDE OF CENTRELeft -ANTI-CLOCKWISE DIRECTION
Right -CLOCKWISE DIRECTION
Here some Conjunction is also used instead of
name of candidate. In that case:

 If AND/BUT is used then subject of the previous
sentence (name of first candidate) will be used,
 If WHO/WHOM/WHOSE is used then object of the
previous sentence (name of second candidate) will be
used.
 Left or right of any candidate can only be judged if it
is given that towards which direction he is facing
means you have to focus upon the candidate
towards which he is facing.
In this type of question some persons (6,7,
8, 9,10 etc.) are made to sit around the circle
facing the centre or facing opposite the center.
EXAMPLE
6 Boys are sitting in a circle and facing towards the
center of the circle. Rajeev is sitting to the immediate
right of Mohan, but he is not just to the left of Vijay.
Suresh is between Babu and Vijay. Ajay is sitting to the
immediate left of Vijay.

In this type of the question people are made
to sit in a sequential manner in a particular
direction.
EXAMPLE
Eleven students A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J
and K are sitting in first row facing the teacher. D,
who is just to the left of F, is at second place to
the right of C. A is second to the right of E who is
at one end. J is the nearest neighbor of A and B
and is to the left of G at third place. H is to the
left of D and is at the third place to the right of I.

In this type of question some persons are
made to sit around a rectangle facing the centre
or facing in four directions.

cards. Amar is to the right of Satish, who is to the
right of Shiva.
