Sullivan & Rosin describe four guiding principles that relate to how students learn:

In ORGL 3000, emphasis is on the Self - or your personal identity – and how you learn.
Sullivan and Rosin define IDENTITY: Identity is “the reflective and formative…ways in which persons are
formed, through institutional and social engagement, as they participate in evolving traditions of
knowing” (Sullivan & Rosin Part I of IV, 2008, p. 94)
In ORGL 3050, we concentrate on Self in Context referring to those things around us which influence how our
identities develop and how we interact with others:
Self in Context relates to Sullivan and Rosin’s Parts II and III: COMMUNITY is “Participation
with others populates the imagination with models of what it means to engage the natural, social,
and contextual contexts of action.” RESPONSIBILITY—“the person lives up to her responsibility for
others and the values of the community… Only by keeping faith with the trust of others does the
professional achieve legitimacy and meaning.” (Sullivan & Rosin, 2008, p. 94)
In ORGL 4000, the focus is on how the Self Transforms, being able to appreciate multiple perspectives or bodies of
knowledge, being self-aware and being able to transform our behaviors.
In Sullivan and Rosen’s Part IV of IV, BODIES OF KNOWLEDGE are defined as — disciplinary (and
multidisciplinary) frameworks for ‘arguing and knowing.’ (Sullivan & Rosin, 2008, p. 94)
Sullivan & Rosin’s Practical Reasoning
The four principles above comprise the foundation of “practical reasoning,” proposed by Sullivan and Rosin. In their view
undergraduate education must move beyond "critical thinking" to the idea of "practical reasoning" integrating teaching
practices from the liberal arts—which develop students' ability to assume responsibility for their purposes and identity—
with those from professional education, which stress competence and practice.
Practical reasoning offers a repertoire of skills and habits of mind that can help adults figure out what to do when
navigating the challenges of contemporary adult life.

What does it mean to age “successfully”? Though the concept of success is relative, theories of successful aging explain factors that support individuals as they grow old. Factors such as maintaining physical and mental activity and disengaging from community obligations contribute to older adults’ ability to function. As a social worker, you must understand these supportive factors in order to address the needs of older clients and their families.
As you will see in this week’s media, situations involving Alzheimer’s or dementia, interpersonal conflict, and grief can complicate the process of successful aging. For this Discussion, you review one of two case studies involving an older woman and apply a theory of successful aging to the case.

Employers should promote work-life balance within the workplace by allowing family time, exercise and self-care. Flexible scheduling is critical to accommodate individual schedules. Furthermore, employers can encourage their employees to use vacation time to refresh and rejuvenate. Employers may also provide work from home options, which potentially eliminates the stress of time management. Implementation is exemplified by going to college to study a specific field. An example of establishment is learning collaborative and leadership skills at a workplace. Maintenance may include keeping one job for a long time, working in the same place. Working for shorter hours in an example of deceleration. Lastly, dissociation from all work-related activities is an example of retirement.
Glass ceiling alludes to stopping and individual from advancing with an organization’s hierarchical levels based on factors, such as racism and sexism. Contrastingly, glass cliff implies the tendency to promote people into problematic organizational situations, particularly women. As a result, the decision is mean to make their performance falter. Primarily, both practices entail erecting barriers to limit individuals from actualizing their potential.
Chapter 13: Making it in Midlife
A college professor may be interested in the adult learners’ self-direction a major characteristic of their education because they understand what they want. Secondly, personal-experience-oriented learning mostly drawn from their age. With advanced age, adult learners have gained substantial experience over the years and will apply it when learning. Thirdly, adult learners emphasize on practical and outcome-based approach to gain deeper knowledge. They recognize the whole reason of learning is to attain positive outcomes on explored concepts.
The five-factor model recognizes an ideal grandparent as one that shows openness. He/she should be willing to try new things. Secondly, conscientiousness is a key factor for an ideal grandparent and entails having self-discipline and control. Transformative learning is a theory of adult learning that focuses on how life experiences shape a person's understanding of the world. It involves critically reflecting on assumptions and beliefs, engaging in discourse to gain different perspectives, and taking action. Mezirow outlined a 10-step process for perspective transformation including a disorienting dilemma, self-examination, relating new knowledge to prior knowledge, building competence and self-confidence in new roles, and reintegrating into life with a new perspective. Theorists like Boyd, DaloZ, and Taylor expanded on this work to describe phases of development, domains of learning, and cognitive and psychological changes involved in perspective transformation.

these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
