5S Cross Functional Team
Criteria
• A team of 6 to 8 representatives from departments will be preferred,
however, the size may vary depending on the situation.
• Individuals should have some engineering/management background with a
strong cognitive ability.
• Individuals must have strong interpersonal skills and enough experience in
the organization to reach hidden areas of departments.
• Individuals must be self motivated and have can do attitude.
• Individuals must be available on call during working hours and for CFT
meetings.
• Individuals should have intermediate level experience of MS Office
applications (Min. Word, Excel & PowerPoint), expertise in Visio,
Photoshop will be given preference.
5S Training of CFT
• CFT will be trained on 5S principles.
• They will be exposed to some Case Studies and Scenario based
learning.
• They will be provoked to apply 5S best practice and design a work
flow that can best leverage the plant practices.
• They will be educated so that they should be able to prepare criteria
for assessments during benchmarking and Audits.
• They will be trained to control and sustain the overall project.
5S Objectives

• Secondary Objectives:
• Reduced Downtime
• Increased employee engagement
• Improved Safety
• Improved Quality
• Improved efficiency

5S Criteria for Benchmarking/Audit
• Criteria for Benchmarking will be finalized based on the following
main principles.
