Explain Stage
• During the explanation phase, students
learn to concretely describe and interpret
their observations. This is the phase
where direct instruction takes place and
misconceptions are clearly addressed.
• Objective: connection and interpret
with the objectives of the lesson
topics.
• Importance: Sets the foundation for
deeper understanding and inquiry-
based learning.

• This is a teacher-led phase that helps
students synthesize new knowledge and
ask questions if they need further
clarification. For the Explain phase to be
effective, teachers should ask students to
share what they learned during the
Explore phase before introducing technical
information in a more direct manner,

• Foster observation skills and encourage
inquiry-based learning.
• Students make observations, ask
questions, and formulate hypotheses and
