This document contains the Canticle of Mary, also known as the Magnificat, which is a song of praise spoken by Mary upon learning she would bear Jesus. It expresses Mary's joy at being chosen by God and declares God's power in exalting the humble and filling the hungry with good things while sending the rich away empty. The document also includes prayers, readings, and Gospel passages for a Lenten mass focused on themes of listening to God, hardening not one's heart, and casting out demons through the power of God rather than Satan.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.
Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

7:23-287:23-28
15. These were my orders:
“Listen to my voice, then I
will be your God and you
shall be my people.
Follow right to the end
the way that I mark out
for you, and you will
prosper.”But they did
16. not listen, they did not
pay attention; they
followed the dictates of
their own evil hearts,
refused to face me, and
turned their backs on me.
From the day your
ancestors came out of the
17. land of Egypt until
today,day after day I have
persistently sent you all
my servants the prophets.
But they have not
listened to me, have not
paid attention; they have
grown
18. stubborn and behaved
worse than their
ancestors. You may say
all these words to them:
they will not listen to you;
you may call them: they
will not answer. So tell
them this “here is the
nation
19. that will not listen to the
voice of the Lord its God
nor take correction.
Sincerity is no more, it
has vanished from their
mouths.”

22. Come, ring out our joy to
the Lord;
hail the rock who
saves us.
Let us come before him,
giving thanks, with songs
let us hail the Lord.

would listen to his

R,R,
24. Come in; let us bow and
bend low; let us kneel
before the God who made
us:
for he is our God and we
the people who belong
to his pasture,
the flock that is led by
his hand.
25. O that today you
would listen to his
voice!
“Harden not your
hearts.”
R,R,
26. O that today you would
listen to his voice!
‘Harden not your
hearts as at Meribah, as
on that day at Massah in
the desert when your
fathers put me to the test;
when they tried me,
though they saw my
work.’
27. O that today you
would listen to his
voice!

Gospel according to Luke
11:14-23
Glory to you O’LordGlory to you O’Lord
30. Jesus was casting out a
devil and it was dumb; but
when the devil had gone
out the dumb man spoke,
and the people were
amazed. But some of them
said, ‘It is through
Beelzebul,the prince
31. of devils, that he casts
out devils.’ Others asked
him, as a test, for a sign
from heaven; but,
knowing what they were
thinking, he said to them,
‘Every kingdom divided
against itself is
32. heading for ruin, and a
household divided against
itself collapses. So too
with Satan: if he is
divided against himself,
how can his kingdom
stand? – Since you
assert that it is through
33. Beelzebul that I cast out
devils. Now if it is through
Beelzebul that I cast out
devils, through whom do
your own experts cast
them out? Let them be
your judges then. But if it
is through
34. the finger of God that I
cast out devils, then know
that the kingdom of God
has overtaken you. So
long as a strong man fully
armed guards his own
palace, his goods are
undisturbed; but
35. when someone stronger
than he is attacks and
defeats him, the stronger
man takes away all the
weapons he relied on and
shares out his spoil.
36. He who is not with me is
against me; and he who
does not gather with me
scatters.”
39. And with

41. God, our Father
slow to anger,
abounding in
mercy, you find
your way to us
when we can not
find our way to you.
You are always

we are unfaithful.
42. Jesus Christ, you

of mercy.
43. Holy Spirit , you
pour your healing
gifts over our

us to bring good

you sent us out as

44. God of mercies,
have mercy on us,
so that where sins
abounds your
grace may abound
all the more, and
we shall become
merciful like you.
