day were three in number. It seems
that, in most circumstances, women
had lunch separately from men. Also,
in Greek antiquity, apart from the daily
dinner, there was also lunch with
friends or acquaintances called
"symposium"

Greeks are cereals and a mixture of
barley with wheat, from which the bread
was made. Cereals were usually
accompanied by onions and lentils. The
consumption of meat and seafood was
related to the financial situation of the
family, but also to whether they lived in
the city, in the countryside or near the
sea.

products and especially cheese. Butter
was known, but instead olive oil was
mainly used, as this was considered
healthier. The food was accompanied
by wine (red, white or rosé) mixed
with water.
