- Shows the history of Korea,
from:
- the great dynasties
- the divided period
- the beginning of a united
future
3. Ground Level
✦The three dynasties: Silla, Koryo, Choson
✦Contains Artifacts such as coins from each dynasty
✦Provides a timeline on what each dynasty provided and
introduced.
✦Allows visitors to be unified through their history.
✦ River flows above
4. Second Floor
✦Building is separated by River which lies on the 38th
parallel
✦River can be seen continuing
✦The memorial portion of the museum is housed here
✦Visitors are able to see each other on separate sides, but can not cross
✦North Korean Exhibit on one side, South Korean exhibit on the other.
5. Third Floor
✦Building reconnects with glass bridge.
✦Glass floor on bridge allows people to look down on the once divided
Korea with the river
✦Allows visitors to remember the divided Korea, but celebrate the unified
Korea.
6. Roof
✦Gwanghamun-Surviving through history
✦Adapted with windows, allows visitors to enjoy the beauty of Korea and
see it as one entity
✦River is still visible which makes people never forget the divided Korea.
