The Impact of Agricultural and Industrial Sectors on Economic Development in ...iosrjce
This study aimed at investigating the impact of the agricultural and industrial sector on the overall
economic development of the Nigeria using secondary data from 1981 – 2012. A multiple regression approach
was used for the estimation. To determine the stability of the time series data used in the study, Augmented
Dickey–Fuller (ADF) and Philips–Perron (pp) unit root tests were adopted. The empirical results show
cointegration relations among Real GDP per capita (RGDPP), Agricultural contribution to RGDPP (ARG),
Industrial contribution to RGDPP (IND), Interest rate (INT) and Inflation rate (IFL) in the period under
investigation. Agricultural and industrial contributions to RGDPP are significant variables explaining
economic development in Nigeria. The overall result of the analysis indicates that these sectors have significant
positive effect on economic development of Nigeria both in the short-run and in the long-run. This research
therefore suggest that there is need for government and the private investors to focus their attention on these
sectors to boost the economy of the nation and efforts must be made to diversified the economy and focus should
be shifted away from export of crude oil only and more effort should be concentrated on agricultural and
industrial development. This would translate to meaningful development in these sectors which will trickle down
to create employment opportunities, enhance productivity and increase agricultural production for exports.
Self- Help Groups, a model for Economic Growth in Nagalandpaperpublications3
Abstract: The Economic status of a nation or a state is largely associated by the presence of industries, companies and manufacturing units. The state of Nagaland though surprisingly devoid of the presence of such industries and companies has been making steady progress over the years in its economic status but at a slow phase. The introduction of the Self- help Group scheme in the state in 1999-2000 has been a blessing to the people in many respects. The present paper dwells on the immense contribution made by the SHGs towards the growth of the state’s economy. It brings out to light the role of SHGs in strengthening the economic position of the state, employment opportunities generated and the number of people seriously engaged in the SHGs. The paper attempts to examine the huge potentiality SHGs have in the absence of industries and companies by making a case study of three districts of Nagaland viz. Peren, Kohima and Dimapur districts. It also brings out the SHGs –Bank linkage programmes in the state. For this purpose the paper is divided into three sections. Section I deals with introductory remarks and outlines, the significance of self help groups for employment generation with the infusion of low capital. It also provided an input to analyse the data relating to self help groups from an all India perspective Vis a Vis to self help groups in north eastern states. Section II draws attention of the economic profile of the state and also focus on the sample size for the study emphasising on the impact of self help groups and their contribution to socio- economic development. Section III analyses the findings of the study and provides concluding remarks and suggestions.

co-operatives are financial institutions. there are many cooperatives established in Nepal. this slide explain all the issues and different co operatives in Nepal and their performance.
— The study evaluates the efficiency of cooperative societies in credit delivery to agricultural enterprises in Yakurr Local Government Area, Cross River State. The specific objectives were to; describe the socioeconomic profile of cooperatives societies, identify the sources of finance that are available and utilize for credit by cooperative societies, analyze the efficiency of cooperatives using the arrival rate of loan request and the service rate and identify the challenges militating against cooperatives as a means of providing credit facilities to farmers in the study area. random sampling method was used to select 30 Cooperative Societies in the Local Government Area. Data were obtained using well structured questionnaire and were analyzed using descriptive statistics and queue theory. Results from the study showed that most of the cooperatives were formed in 2011 with 16-20 members at inception, which stood currently at 21-40 members. The benefits derived from the society ranges from, provision of input for production, accessibility of loan and marketing of products. The large proportion of the amount disbursed to member's ranges from 11000-31000naira. The result revealed that the sources of finance available to members was mainly from members contributions .The result further showed that cooperatives were not effective and efficient in queue management because the average idle time (-0.26) and the average traffic intensity was more than one (1.26). Also, findings showed that insufficient funds for disbursement(3.33), lack of qualified personnel (3.23), insincerity of members in credit management (3.16) and changes in government credit policies (3.16) were serious challenges that affected efficient delivery of credit by cooperative societies to agricultural enterprises in the study area, The study therefore recommended capacity building for cooperative members to enable them adequately source for funds and efficiently manage loan disbursement and repayment by members. Also, relevant government and nongovernmental financial institutions should be encouraged to channel credit facilities through cooperatives in other to build their financial base and make credit more accessible to agricultural enterprises.
Critical Literature Review on Agriculture Cooperatives, a poverty mitigation ...ARON43448
Over the decades, the perception of cooperatives has revolved from that of considering them as food security agents and determinants to that of social and economic agents to cooperators, community, and national development. The study, therefore, critically reviewed the related literature on agriculture cooperatives as poverty alleviating agents. An integrated strategy in the research review approach was used to support the study. The findings revealed recent developments in cooperatives that are putting agriculture cooperatives on the map as agents of poverty eradication and social and economic development in third-world countries. Currently, there is a societal expectation that cooperatives have not only a responsibility to better the lives of the members but also the entire community and nation as a whole. The study concluded that achieving future sustainable social and economic development requires full recognition of all the key economic players in the business ecosystem. The study, therefore, recommends full support of the agriculture cooperatives if they are to play a positive and integral role in mitigating the poverty levels in third-world countries.

Determinants of Savings Among Members of Cooperative Societies in Anambra Sta...ijtsrd
This study examines the determinants of savings among members of cooperative societies in Anambra state. Specifically, it provides empirical evidence on the socio-economic characteristics of members of the co-operatives and ascertains which of the socio-economic characteristics significantly determine savings mobilization among members of the cooperative groups. It also ascertained the range of savings of the members of the cooperative groups and identified the cooperative members' reasons for saving. Data for the study were obtained from 100 cooperative members with the aid of well structured questionnaires through a simple random sampling technique. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis. Results obtained showed that on the average the members saved N12, 241.57 every month. The average monthly savings is encouraging considering the fact that their monthly income is low. The major reasons for saving as indicated by the respondents include Security, Statutory as Cooperative Member, Investment and to obtain Loans. This is obtained from their mean statistics of 4.00, 3.87, 3.53 and 3.00 respectively. The R2 value of 0.916 obtains indicates that about 91.6 of observed variation in savings by farmers could be attributed to the combined influence of the various independent variables included in the regression equation. The F-statistic with 95.342 was significant at 0.000 levels of significance. There is a significant variation in the range of savings of the members of the cooperative groups. Socio-economic characteristics of members significantly determine the savings of members of cooperative societies in the state. Based on the analysis and findings of this study, the researcher therefore recommends that To increase the farmers' savings potentials, saving should be made statutory as cooperative member. The members should also be encouraged to invest more no matter how small. It is good to save but members should have predefined reasons before saving to enable them make judicious use of whatever amount saved. There is the need to improve the livelihood strategies of the farmers to bridge the noticeable gap that exist in the farmers' savings range. Operation of Higher Education Institution-Based Cooperatives in Nueva EcijaIJAEMSJORNAL
This study evaluated the operation of Higher Education Institution (HEI)-based cooperatives in Nueva Ecija. It described the cooperatives’ historical antecedents and different aspects of operation in terms of organization and management, market and marketing, production/technical and financial aspects. The study also identified the challenges and problems encountered by the cooperatives. The study employed the descriptive type of research and the respondents of the study were the general managers and members from two public and two private HEIs in Nueva Ecija. The result of the study revealed that HEI-based cooperatives are classified as credit, multi-purpose, consumer and housing cooperatives, all operating for more than two decades. All of the cooperatives have the same set of key officers who managed the operation of the organization. They used fliers, social media and public announcement to disseminate information. The cooperatives primarily offered cash loans and selling of various commodities. As to fund resources, cooperatives sourced out their fund through the share of a capital subscription among the members. Top problems encountered by the cooperatives include limited membership expansion, decreased volume of sales, difficulties in marketing loan packages to faculty members with high take-home pay, time management and availability of officers and slow retrieval of land titles from National Housing Authority (NHA). Recommendations offered to improve the operation of cooperatives are continuous enhancement of their operation through the integration of technology, additional personnel, new services and crafting new policies that will benefit more members of the cooperatives.
Effect of Cooperative Membership on Needs Satisfaction among Staff of Tertiar...YogeshIJTSRD
With the growing recognition of cooperatives as a vibrant and viable economic alternative to alleviate hardship, it does appear that members’ needs satisfaction is yet to be met. This study, therefore, examined the effect of cooperative membership on needs satisfaction among staff of tertiary institutions in Anambra State, Nigeria. The population of study and sample size which was generated using the Taro Yamane formula was 6,647 and 377 cooperative members respectively. A multi stage sampling technique was used in selecting study participants. Data were sourced from a primary source. The generated data were presented and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The study hypothesis was tested using regression analysis. The findings revealed that 93 of the variation in physical needs of members is caused by the length of cooperative membership and frequency of cooperative patronage at a 5 level of significance. This study concluded that the length of cooperative membership and frequency of patronage enhances the actualization of the physical needs of members. Therefore, it was recommended among others that the cooperative societies should continue to strive in ensuring that members’ needs are reasonably met. In doing this, the cooperatives should possibly adopt a scale of preference approach in tackling members need. The Role of Cooperatives in Marketing of Agricultural Produce in Ushongo Loca...Premier Publishers
This study was designed to determine the role of cooperatives in the marketing of agricultural produce in a rural community. A structured interview schedule was used to collect data from a random sample of 115 respondents drawn from five of the eleven Council Wards in the Local Government Area. It was found that respondents’ socio-economic characteristics had no significant influence on farmers’ participation in cooperatives. The study showed further that cooperatives were able to regulate only a small proportion of the volume of produce farmers took to the market. However, three quarters (74.8%) of respondents believed that cooperatives determined prices of produce. Some of the constraints facing cooperatives identified included the large number of middlemen (75.5), inadequate storage (67.0%) and low literacy of members (67.8). It is concluded that cooperatives would better impact farmers if identified constraints are addressed by both governmental and non-governmental stakeholders.

Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs

price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).
