On Wednesday 29th January, the Doctoral Training Partnerships and Centres for Doctoral Training were launched at a conference at the University of Nottingham.
1. 3D3 Centre for Doctoral Training
• 3 institutions in South West
England with shared commitment
to cultural ecologies and creative
economies
• Research training focus on Digital
Design, Digital Media and Digital
Arts (including Music and
Performance)
• All student projects will be
practice-led
2. 3D3 Centre for Doctoral Training
• Will train a new generation of researchers to:
– meet the creative and design opportunities of the
future through an iterative cycle of doing, making,
testing, thinking
– explore the possibilities and challenges presented
by rapidly evolving technologies, including the
interface between digital processes and traditional
methods
3. 3D3 Centre for Doctoral Training
• 3D3 research training programme includes annual
residential cohort workshops; sessions via highspeed video linking; and, a digital platform to
engender networking and ongoing dialogue
• Formal partnership with REACT, an AHRC-funded
knowledge exchange hub, will facilitate
interactions across a range of creative
communities, as well as work placements and
internships
