Greek Spring celebrations: 25th of March

1. National day-March 25th

2. WHAT?
• It is a day of remembrance of the beginning of
the liberation in 1821 with a big revolution
against Turks by whom Greece was occupied
for over 400 years.

3. WHEN?
• Every year on March 25th.

4. WHERE?
• All over around Greece , Cyprus and Greek
communities all over the world.

5. HOW?
• The day is a public holiday
in Greece and Cyprus.
Usually the celebrations
include parades and other
festivities on the same
day or the previous one.
The biggest event is the
military parade in Athens
on March 25th. In other
municipalities there are
parades military
departments, students,
clubs etc. and praises in
churches.

6. WHY?
• Because we want to keep in mind the days of
revolution and the heroes who showed great
bravery to have an independent Greece!

7. So let’s celebrate together
the Greek national!!!!!!
