Hello my name is Michael Slingerland and I would like to bring my years of quality &
manufacturing skills and become part of your team as a Quality engineer.
I was involved in the tooling change tryouts & process changes, the customer/supplier approval
process as well as advance parts quality planning on upcoming programs.
My experience covered supplier quality capabilities & sample approvals, monitoring their
process controls & supplier auditing. This was done prior to a new product launch.
When working on a problem I found it was most important to be able to utilize my knowledge
training and experience with problem solving that would lead to a corrective action/continuous
improvement solution. Organized & controlled containment sorts and material returns.
During my daily activities I would always be referencing measurements back to the blueprint
specifications determining if the part or area was within its tolerances.
I also have been involved with other office procedures involving scheduling, operator
instruction sheets with photos, documentation, and record retention.
I worked for Magna Mirror Systems for 14 years. They like others were forced to down size.
The last year I have worked for Magna as a Contract Engineer. I have spent several months at
three different suppliers. My last 6 months were spent at General Motors Cadillac assembly plant
in Lansing Mi. There I was supplier customer liaison for a new product launch.-
Before working at Magna, I worked at Michigan Plating & Stamping for 5 years. There I was a
Quality Supervisor working with various size steel stamping presses ranging from 250 ton to a
100,000-ton machine. I also supervised different operations such as material surfacing welding
polishing, and chrome plating.
My most recent employment was for Magna Mirrors as a contract engineer. There I was the
quality engineer overseeing the quality of 70 injection molding machines there parts and gauging.
Before that I was working for Visiting Physicians in the healthcare field as a support/equipment
technician covering the West Side of Michigan.
