This document summarizes research on the aerodynamic stability of a proposed 480m cable-stayed concrete bridge. Wind tunnel tests were conducted on a 1:200 scale model to study flutter, buffeting, and rolling oscillations. The model exhibited coupled vertical and torsional oscillations at different structural damping levels and live load ratios. Additional rolling oscillations were observed, believed to be due to flexural oscillations of the main span. Providing small holes in the deck bottom controlled the vertical and rolling oscillations. Test results were compared to theoretical values to predict flutter and buffeting responses to wind loads.

Analytical Investigation on External Beam-Column Joint Using ANSYS By Varying...IJERA Editor
The beam-column joint has been a topic of study for over 30 years now and still there are many things that yet to
be completely understood. The joint was considered to be rigid, however researches have shown that failure may
occur at the joint instead of the beam or column. This study was carried out to determine the effect of the
diameter of longitudinal reinforcement of the beam on the strength, deformation and ductility in the beamcolumn
joint using ANSYS. It was seen that the load carrying capacity and the deformation increases as the
diameter of reinforcement in the beam increases.
Study of Buckling Restrained Braces in Steel Frame BuildingIJERA Editor
Conventional braces have limited deformation ductility capacity, and exhibit unsymmetrical hysteretic cycles, with marked strength deterioration when loaded in compression. To overcome the above mentioned problems, a new type of brace was developed in Japan called as buckling restrained braces, designated as BRB’s. These braces are designed such that buckling is inhibited to occur, exhibiting adequate behavior and symmetrical hysteretic curves under the action of both tensile and compressive cycles, produced by the action of seismic and wind forces. This paper presents experimental results concerning the lateral load carrying capacity of steel frame model by use of buckling restrained brace. This paper also includes the comparative study of lateral load carrying capacity of frame model for bare frame, frame with Conventional brace and frame with buckling restrained brace.

Cost Optimization of a Tubular Steel Truss Using Limit State Method of DesignIJERA Editor
Limit state method helps to design structures based on both safety and serviceability. The structures are designed to withstand ultimate loads or the loads at which failure occurs unlike working stress method where only service loads are considered. This leads to enhanced safety. Also unlike the working stress method, the structures are economical. It is also better than ultimate load method as serviceability requirement is also taken care of by considering various safety factors for all the load types and structures do not undergo massive deflection and cracks. For tubular sections, higher strength to weight ratio could result in upto 30% savings in steel .Due to the high torsional rigidity and compressive strength, Tubular sections behave more efficiently than conventional steel section This study is regarding the economy, load carrying capacity of all structural members and their corresponding safety measures.
Analysis of multistoried braced frame subjected to seismic and gravity loading.IJERA Editor
The structure in high seismic areas may be susceptible to the severe damage. Along with gravity load structure has to withstand to lateral load which can develop high stresses. Now-a-days, shear wall in R.C. structure and steel bracings in steel structure are most popular system to resist lateral load due to earthquake, wind, blast etc. bracing is a highly efficient and economical method of resisting horizontal forces in a frame structure. Bracing is efficient because the diagonals work in axial stress and therefore call for minimum member sizes in providing stiffness and strength against horizontal shear. Through the addition of the bracing system, load could be transferred out of the frame and into the braces, by passing the weak columns while increasing strength. In this study Steel Frame is modeled and analyzed three Parts viz., (i) Model without Steel bracing (bare frame), (ii) Model completely Steel braced (fully braced frame), (iii) Model with partially Steel bay wise braced frames. The computer aided analysis is done by using STAAD-PRO to find out the effective lateral load system during earthquake in high seismic areas.
Experimental Evaluation of the Effect of Thread Angle on the Fatigue Life of ...IOSR Journals
Abstract : The present work is concerned with fatigue strength, obtained by plotting the S-N Curves for
determining the fatigue life of various thread geometries of bolts under cyclic loading. The stress equations
obtained from Majzoobi are being used for calculations of core stress produced due to cyclic loading,
which is being carried usually by the first thread of the bolt. The higher stress concentration occurs in the root
of first threads. The experimental work has been carried out for five different thread profiles of varying flank
angles, having six samples of each profile. The fatigue testing on each profile has been performed under cyclic
loading, in order to obtain the number of cycles to failure of a particular specimen. The results obtained
experimentally have been compared with the work of Gane . Finally the work is used to obtain the failure life of
bolts, which means which thread profile has higher fatigue life or simply higher strength to failure. As strength
is of direct use to the designer regarding the safety of structures.
Structural Analysis and Design of Castellated Beam in Fixed ActionAM Publications
The depth is the most important parameter which governs the sectional property of the section. For the serviceability moment of inertia plays very important role and moment of inertia of I-section is directly proportional to the third power of the depth. Research on cellular beams with circular web openings is very limited and is less developed than Cellular beams which may be attributed to the fact that cellular beams are more complicated to analyze due to their continuously changing section properties around the cell.
Study of castellated beam using stiffeners a revieweSAT Journals
Abstract Now-a-days the use of castellated beam has been admired due to its beneficial functions like light in weight, easy to erect, economical and stronger. The castellated beam is manufactured from its parent solid I beam by cutting it in zigzag pattern and again joining it by welding, so that the depth of the beam increases. Hence, due to increase in depth of beam load carrying capacity of the parent I section is increased with same quantity of material. The increase in depth of castellated beam leads to web post buckling and lateral torsional buckling failure when these beams are subjected to loading. There are many other modes of failure like formation of flexure mechanism, lateral torsional buckling, and formation of vierendeel mechanism, rupture of the welded joint in a web post and shear buckling of a web post which needs to be taken care of. Study shows that use of stiffeners in the web portion of beam helps in minimizing these failures. Therefore, a detailed study in respect of number of stiffeners, size of stiffener and there locations in the web portion of castellated beam needs to be carried out. Hence, in the present paper an attempt has been made to review existing literature, concerned with strength of beam using stiffeners. The literature survey indicates that use of stiffeners in web portion of castellated beams helps in increasing the strength and also minimizing the deflection. Researchers have suggested using stiffener along the edges in order to reduce the stress concentration along openings.. Key Words: openings, castellated beam, cellular beam, stiffener, thickness.

Experimental study on bending behaviour of triangular web profile steel beam ...eSAT Journals
Abstract A triangular web profile (TRIWP) steel section is a section made of two flanges connected to a slender web. The web and the flanges can be produced from different steel grades depending on design requirements. The flanges width and thickness is determined based on the depth of the section. The web is corrugated at regular interval into triangular shape along the length of the beam. This paper describes an experimental study on the bending behavior in major (Ix) and minor (Iy) axes of Triangular Web Profile (TRIWP) compared to flat web (FW) steel sections. Two types of sizing involved which is 200×100×6×3mm and 180×75×5×2mm section. Each of beam section was modeled using several spans such as 3m, 4m and 4.8m. It was observed that the TRIWP section had a higher stiffness about minor axis compared to that of FW steel section but has lower stiffness about major axis. The analyses results show that the flexural stiffness for TRIWP1 is 0.794 times the Ix of the flat web steel section (FW1). Meanwhile, the flexural stiffness for TRIWP1 is 1.429 times the Iy of the flat web steel section (FW1). The findings for section TRIWP2 found to be similar to that of TRIWP1. For the section TRIWP2, it was observed that the value of Ix of TRIWP is 0.780 times the Ix of FW steel section which is less than that of FW. The Iy of TRIWP is 1.393 times the Iy of FW steel section which is more than that of FW steel section. Keywords: Flexural stiffness, Bending, Triangular web profile.

Optimum Location of Seismic Isolation for Manavgat Cable-Stayed BridgeIJAEMSJORNAL
Seismic isolation strategies have been extensively implemented to mitigate the risk of damage in cable-stayed bridges (CSBs). The effectiveness of seismic isolation has received a great deal of attention from a number of researchers. This paper focuses on studying the seismic performance of a single pylon cable-stayed bridge with a single concave friction pendulum (SCFP) at various locations under bi-directional seismic excitations. A 3D numerical model was created using the prototype of a single pylon cable-stayed bridge located in Antalya, Turkey in order to study its seismic response. SCFP was installed at the bridge’s deck-abutment, deck-pylon and pylon-foundation connection to study the reduction of the dynamic response when subjected to various seismic excitations. The efficiency of SCFP is evaluated by monitoring and controlling the displacement of the deck, acceleration, and the base of the pylon. The analytical results indicate that SCFP can effectively diminish both the base shear and the displacement of the pylon. However, the effectiveness of SCFP is significantly influenced by its location and ground motion.

Pendulum Dampers for Tall RC Chimney Subjected To WindIJERA Editor
Chimneys are a part of industrial growth in any country. Most current chimney design standards require analysis of dynamic analysis of chimney for earthquake and wind induced loads. Because of variation in dimensions of chimney along its height structural analysis such as wind oscillations have become more critical. If ductility is an important consideration in earthquake resistant design, control of deflection become critical in wind induced vibrations. Pendulum dampers are of the devices to control the deflection. In the present work pendulum dampers of different natural frequencies have been tried. The one which has the largest equivalent logarithmic decrement is found to reduce the response significantly. The response is compared with that of chimney with a tip mass. The paper discusses the dynamic analysis of 150m high RCC chimney subjected to wind. Analysis has been carried out for fixed base case.
The Hydrodynamic Performance Examination of a New Floating Breakwater Configu...IJAEMSJORNAL
It is critical to protect coastal and offshore structures. Most current studies and scientific investigations are centered on how to protect seashore with an efficient and cost-effective system. This study involved the testing of a new floating breakwater configuration (FB). A series of experiments were carried out in the lab of The Higher Institute of Engineering (El-shorouk City) on the new model and the traditional vertical plane FB without a curved face to compare their behaviours and performance in wave attenuation. The incident, reflected, and transmitted wave heights were measured, and the coefficients of reflection, transmission, and energy dissipation were calculated using these measurements. In terms of hydrodynamic performance, the curved-face floating breakwater outperformed the traditional vertical floating breakwater, according to the study's highlights. The curved face model significantly reduced wave transmission values when compared to the traditional vertical configuration. The greater the concavity of the curve, the better the model handles waves, especially when the wave steepness is low.

Dissipative Capacity Analysis of Steel Buildings using Viscous Bracing Deviceidescitation
Energy dissipation Systems in civil engineering structures are sought when it
comes to removing unwanted energy such as instability, earthquake and wind. Among these
systems, there is the combination of structural steel frames with passive energy dissipation
provided by Fluid Viscous Dampers (FVD). This device is increasingly used to provide
better seismic protection for existing as well as new buildings and bridges. A 3 D numerical

Rectangular submerged vertical breakwater (RSVB) is a barrier with its crest below the still
water level. For economical solution of submerged rectangular vertical breakwater, I have to make
some holes in it to be permeable with different permeability ratios (p) to use as wave energy
absorption for the defence of the shore line. So in this paper experiments were done in the wave
flume in the laboratory of Hydraulics, Civil Engineering Department, Shorouk Academy, Higher
Institute of Engineering. This is under normal and regular waves with different ranges of wave
heights and periods under different water depths. The efficiency of the break water is presented as a
function of the transmission, the reflection and the wave energy loss coefficients. A permeable
(RSVB) with constant width (W) = 50 cm as the total width of the experimental flume and different
heights (Y) worked one by one or with each other’s (stepped) with different water depths (dw),
different wave heights (Hi) and some holes with diameter φ = 4.0 and 2.0 cm acting from one to
fourth rows, with different heights (S) from base. Comparing the percentage of energy reduction
calculated between this type and impermeable (RSVB), working as single or as a group (stepped) as

BROAD UNEXPOSED SKILLS OF TRANSGENDER ENTREPRENEURSIAEME Publication
Since ages gender difference is always a debatable theme whether caused by nature, evolution or environment. The birth of a transgender is dreadful not only for the child but also for their parents. The pain of living in the wrong physique and treated as second class victimized citizen is outrageous and fully harboured with vicious baseless negative scruples. For so long, social exclusion had perpetuated inequality and deprivation experiencing ingrained malign stigma and besieged victims of crime or violence across their life spans. They are pushed into the murky way of life with a source of eternal disgust, bereft sexual potency and perennial fear. Although they are highly visible but very little is known about them. The common public needs to comprehend the ravaged arrogance on these insensitive souls and assist in integrating them into the mainstream by offering equal opportunity, treat with humanity and respect their dignity. Entrepreneurship in the current age is endorsing the gender fairness movement. Unstable careers and economic inadequacy had inclined one of the gender variant people called Transgender to become entrepreneurs. These tiny budding entrepreneurs resulted in economic transition by means of employment, free from the clutches of stereotype jobs, raised standard of living and handful of financial empowerment. Besides all these inhibitions, they were able to witness a platform for skill set development that ignited them to enter into entrepreneurial domain. This paper epitomizes skill sets involved in trans-entrepreneurs of Thoothukudi Municipal Corporation of Tamil Nadu State and is a groundbreaking determination to sightsee various skills incorporated and the impact on entrepreneurship.

Living in 21st century in itself reminds all of us the necessity of police and its administration. As more and more we are entering into the modern society and culture, the more we require the services of the so called ‘Khaki Worthy’ men i.e., the police personnel. Whether we talk of Indian police or the other nation’s police, they all have the same recognition as they have in India. But as already mentioned, their services and requirements are different after the like 26th November, 2008 incidents, where they without saving their own lives has sacrificed themselves without any hitch and without caring about their respective family members and wards. In other words, they are like our heroes and mentors who can guide us from the darkness of fear, militancy, corruption and other dark sides of life and so on. Now the question arises, if Gandhi would have been alive today, what would have been his reaction/opinion to the police and its functioning? Would he have some thing different in his mind now what he had been in his mind before the partition or would he be going to start some Satyagraha in the form of some improvement in the functioning of the police administration? Really these questions or rather night mares can come to any one’s mind, when there is too much confusion is prevailing in our minds, when there is too much corruption in the society and when the polices working is also in the questioning because of one or the other case throughout the India. It is matter of great concern that we have to thing over our administration and our practical approach because the police personals are also like us, they are part and parcel of our society and among one of us, so why we all are pin pointing towards them.

ATTRITION IN THE IT INDUSTRY DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC: LINKING EMOTIONAL INTE...IAEME Publication
Globally, Millions of dollars were spent by the organizations for employing skilled Information Technology (IT) professionals. It is costly to replace unskilled employees with IT professionals possessing technical skills and competencies that aid in interconnecting the business processes. The organization’s employment tactics were forced to alter by globalization along with technological innovations as they consistently diminish to remain lean, outsource to concentrate on core competencies along with restructuring/reallocate personnel to gather efficiency. As other jobs, organizations or professions have become reasonably more appropriate in a shifting employment landscape, the above alterations trigger both involuntary as well as voluntary turnover. The employee view on jobs is also afflicted by the COVID-19 pandemic along with the employee-driven labour market. So, having effective strategies is necessary to tackle the withdrawal rate of employees. By associating Emotional Intelligence (EI) along with Talent Management (TM) in the IT industry, the rise in attrition rate was analyzed in this study. Only 303 respondents were collected out of 350 participants to whom questionnaires were distributed. From the employees of IT organizations located in Bangalore (India), the data were congregated. A simple random sampling methodology was employed to congregate data as of the respondents. Generating the hypothesis along with testing is eventuated. The effect of EI and TM along with regression analysis between TM and EI was analyzed. A STUDY OF VARIOUS TYPES OF LOANS OF SELECTED PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR BANKS...IAEME Publication
Banking regulations act of India, 1949 defines banking as “acceptance of deposits for the purpose of lending or investment from the public, repayment on demand or otherwise and withdrawable through cheques, drafts order or otherwise”, the major participants of the Indian financial system are commercial banks, the financial institution encompassing term lending institutions. Investments institutions, specialized financial institution and the state level development banks, non banking financial companies (NBFC) and other market intermediaries such has the stock brokers and money lenders are among the oldest of the certain variants of NBFC and the oldest market participants. The asset quality of banks is one of the most important indicators of their financial health. The Indian banking sector has been facing severe problems of increasing Non- Performing Assets (NPAs). The NPAs growth directly and indirectly affects the quality of assets and profitability of banks. It also shows the efficiency of banks credit risk management and the recovery effectiveness. NPA do not generate any income, whereas, the bank is required to make provisions for such as assets that why is a double edge weapon. This paper outlines the concept of quality of bank loans of different types like Housing, Agriculture and MSME loans in state Haryana of selected public and private sector banks. This study is highlighting problems associated with the role of commercial bank in financing Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SME). The overall objective of the research was to assess the effect of the financing provisions existing for the setting up and operations of MSMEs in the country and to generate recommendations for more robust financing mechanisms for successful operation of the MSMEs, in turn understanding the impact of MSME loans on financial institutions due to NPA. There are many research conducted on the topic of Non- Performing Assets (NPA) Management, concerning particular bank, comparative study of public and private banks etc. In this paper the researcher is considering the aggregate data of selected public sector and private sector banks and attempts to compare the NPA of Housing, Agriculture and MSME loans in state Haryana of public and private sector banks. The tools used in the study are average and Anova test and variance. The findings reveal that NPA is common problem for both public and private sector banks and is associated with all types of loans either that is housing loans, agriculture loans and loans to SMES. NPAs of both public and private sector banks show the increasing trend. In 2010-11 GNPA of public and private sector were at same level it was 2% but after 2010-11 it increased in many fold and at present there is GNPA in some more than 15%. It shows the dark area of Indian banking sector.

ROLE OF SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN RURAL DEVELOPMENT OF INDIA - PROBLEMS AND ...IAEME Publication
The majority of the population in India lives in villages. The village is the back bone of the country. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Developing the rural economy is one of the key indicators towards a country’s success. Whether it be the need to look after the welfare of the farmers or invest in rural infrastructure, Governments have to ensure that rural development isn’t compromised. The economic development of our country largely depends on the progress of rural areas and the standard of living of rural masses. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Rural entrepreneurship is based on stimulating local entrepreneurial talent and the subsequent growth of indigenous enterprises. It recognizes opportunity in the rural areas and accelerates a unique blend of resources either inside or outside of agriculture. Rural entrepreneurship brings an economic value to the rural sector by creating new methods of production, new markets, new products and generate employment opportunities thereby ensuring continuous rural development. Social Entrepreneurship has the direct and primary objective of serving the society along with the earning profits. So, social entrepreneurship is different from the economic entrepreneurship as its basic objective is not to earn profits but for providing innovative solutions to meet the society needs which are not taken care by majority of the entrepreneurs as they are in the business for profit making as a sole objective. So, the Social Entrepreneurs have the huge growth potential particularly in the developing countries like India where we have huge societal disparities in terms of the financial positions of the population. Still 22 percent of the Indian population is below the poverty line and also there is disparity among the rural & urban population in terms of families living under BPL. 25.7 percent of the rural population & 13.7 percent of the urban population is under BPL which clearly shows the disparity of the poor people in the rural and urban areas. The need to develop social entrepreneurship in agriculture is dictated by a large number of social problems. Such problems include low living standards, unemployment, and social tension. The reasons that led to the emergence of the practice of social entrepreneurship are the above factors. The research problem lays upon disclosing the importance of role of social entrepreneurship in rural development of India. The paper the tendencies of social entrepreneurship in India, to present successful examples of such business for providing recommendations how to improve situation in rural areas in terms of social entrepreneurship development. Indian government has made some steps towards development of social enterprises, social entrepreneurship, and social in- novation, but a lot remains to be improved.
OPTIMAL RECONFIGURATION OF POWER DISTRIBUTION RADIAL NETWORK USING HYBRID MET...IAEME Publication
Distribution system is a critical link between the electric power distributor and the consumers. Most of the distribution networks commonly used by the electric utility is the radial distribution network. However in this type of network, it has technical issues such as enormous power losses which affect the quality of the supply. Nowadays, the introduction of Distributed Generation (DG) units in the system help improve and support the voltage profile of the network as well as the performance of the system components through power loss mitigation. In this study network reconfiguration was done using two meta-heuristic algorithms Particle Swarm Optimization and Gravitational Search Algorithm (PSO-GSA) to enhance power quality and voltage profile in the system when simultaneously applied with the DG units. Backward/Forward Sweep Method was used in the load flow analysis and simulated using the MATLAB program. Five cases were considered in the Reconfiguration based on the contribution of DG units. The proposed method was tested using IEEE 33 bus system. Based on the results, there was a voltage profile improvement in the system from 0.9038 p.u. to 0.9594 p.u.. The integration of DG in the network also reduced power losses from 210.98 kW to 69.3963 kW. Simulated results are drawn to show the performance of each case.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
