- 3. Providing career resources to end unemployment one step at a time. Our Big Goal
- 4. Poverty Around the United States ◎ Tucson, Arizona; Memphis, Tennessee; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Detroit, Michigan are the top 5 cities in the US with the most impoverished people. ◎ These all have around 35- 48% of people earning less than $25,000 a year ◎ 43.1 million Americans have lived in poverty 4
- 6. Poverty around the World ◎ 50% of the globe is in poverty ~ 3 billion people ◎ 150 million people live in the slums worldwide. ◎ 55% of homeless people are unemployed 6
- 7. Unemployment Among Various US Counties ◎ Sumter County, Alabama: 9.9% ◎ Bethel Census Area, Alaska: 15.4% ◎ Apache County, Arizona: 19.8% 7
- 8. Eventual Vision Our hope for the future is to gradually (but thoroughly) end unemployment. We will do this by providing said people with a way to present themselves to potential employers in an accurate and effective way. This will include lessons on resume building, job applications, and cover letters as well as providing business attire to those in need. A job fair will follow that will be open to all of those willing to come. 8
- 9. Action Plan for Implementation Attract unemployed with advertising Hold a seminar once every week for a month Connect with our 501(c)(3) 9 Look for suitable venue Recruit volunteers (HR) Host job fairs at the end of each month Solicit donations
- 10. Action Plan ● Advertising in community centers and local stores will draw the unemployed to our program ● A free resume builder along with advice from Human Resource volunteers will create an excellent resume to give unemployed the best chance of getting a job 10
- 11. Action Plan ● Working with nonprofits and other programs like Literacy Action will give us the ability to help people get their high school diploma. That’s a huge factor in unemployment. 11
- 12. Action Plan ● Holding job fairs each month will help the participants apply their skills they’ve learned to real life. ● We are starting locally but hope to expand our reach in the future. 12

What Sets Us Apart ◎ There will be a job fair held to help promote job opportunities ◎ We will help set up resumés ◎ Other career resources to help end unemployment such as clothing, laptops, and office supplies. ◎ We are also focusing on the homeless that do not have the skills or resources to apply and receive jobs ◎ Interview practice ◎ Classes will be held to teach people the basics of working in a job 14

Connect with our 501(c)(3) and provide those with appropriate business attire to help attract employers 5. Receive donations of laptops and office supplies to host lessons 6. Hold a seminar once every week for a month 7. Culminate the career building in a job fair that will connect employers with potential employees from the seminars- the seminars eventually lead up to the job fair every month.
