for forced labor or commercial sex and 50% of those victims are
children.
It's a $32 billion annual industry.
We are passionate about this particular topic because anyone could be a
victim to this modern day slavery.

4. Nonprofit Organization: Polaris
One of the largest anti-traffic organizations in the U.S.
The name comes from the North star “Polaris” (guided slaves to freedom along
the Underground Railroad)
Works with victims, hosts tips, and crisis hotlines to help victims
We chose the Polaris Project because of their striving mission to bring an end to
human trafficking and it’s large efforts in the U.S., honors, and awards

5. Signs of Human Trafficking
Victim Signs:
● Has unexplained absences.
● Works excessive/ unusually
long hours.
● Seems fearful, anxious,
tense, nervous, submissive,
or depressed.
Predator Signs:
● Jealous/controlling behavior.
● Is vague about their profession.
● Watches for people straying
from their group.
Knowing the signs is the first step to standing up
against human trafficking.

Our vision is to decrease the percentage of human trafficking in the
U.S. and neighboring countries through raising awareness.
