and prepared for deployment within 3 months.
- Implemented change within a multinational framework inspiring ownership
across all working levels.
- Deputised for Defence Academy International Section for pan-academy
management issues and course delivery compliance.
Innovation - Drafted a first national Maritime Security Strategy for Oman and framed the
working programme for the Oman Maritime Security Committee.
- Introduced risk management within UK Joint Force Air Component HQ and
Allied CAOC Al Udeid for campaign assessment, the approach was
subsequently adopted by UK Permanent Joint HQ.
- Developed the concept of an integrated Test and Evaluation Plan that was
incorporated within the staff requirement for the replacement maritime patrol
aircraft; subsequently made an essential element of all system requirements
sponsored by MOD Directorate of Air Requirements.
- As Project Manager challenged a 2-year test and development plan and
delivered a complex EW sensor programme that introduced a validated major
performance improvement within 3 months, accruing savings in excess of £1
million.
Technical - Successful vendor relationship management with numerous major companies
and research agencies with US and UK defence sector.
- Short-toured from operational flying to staff appointment within Central Tactics
and Trial Organisation leading to promotion and a command appointment at the
Aircraft and Armament Experimental Establishment Boscombe Down.
- Project manager or the acceptance of a magnetic anomaly detector for the
Nimrod MR2. Ran trials and exploited the data to radically improve the tactical
employment and effectiveness of the system.
- Established operational testing of mission system software within RAF.
- Responsible for the staff requirement for an active search sonobuoy leading to
successful technical demonstration.
Analysis - Conducted an operational analysis of Oman’s maritime surveillance capability
and gap analysis to identify critical surveillance capability needs that is shaping
future joint procurement.

requirements to maximise coherence and interoperability between single-
service driven programmes.
- Waddington Station Management Board member contributing to successful
resource management of assets (multi-£billion) and an ever tighter annual
budget against demanding targets and constraints.
