This is my power point presentation that was presented at the State of Ohio Middle School conference. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at veronica_asbury@olentangy.k12.oh.us. Hope your students all "get in the grove" just like mine! :)
This workshop focused on all the "how to's" to plan a summer experience for high school students focused on college & career readiness. This was facilitated at the NCCEP 2015 Conference for GEAR UP by Anna Batie from WA GEAR UP and Lyndsey Howe from FOCUS Training.
Blake Sunshine of http://socialsummercamp.com and Travis Allison from http://camphacker.tv presented this free webinar for summer camp directors and marketers on effective use of Facebook.

My June 8, 2010 Our Kids Media webinar.
Facebook is an important tool for Private Schools and Summer Camps marketing.
This webinar will cover the some Facebook basics but focus on the value that a school or camp can get from their presence on Facebook.
In order to get the most out of this webinar you should have some personal experience with using Facebook (ie you understand the News Feed and how it works). If you don't use Facebook yourself, we recommend that you get a user to give you a tour.
We will be covering:
- who uses it?
- why be on Facebook?
- what is a Facebook Page and how does that help you market to prospective campers, students and parents?
- how to make the most out of your Facebook Page
- how you can integrate Facebook features into our own website to get the best response

There are many things you can do, even in the spring of the year, that can increase the number of kids at your camp this summer.
Although we all hope to have our summer sessions full early in the year, many families do not begin to think of summer activities for their children until the snow is off the ground. Google records a big spike in the numbers of searches for "summer camp" starting the beginning of April.
In this presentation Travis Allison will share some of the best ideas that he has collected for having immediate impact on your camper numbers. Many of these have been tried and tested with his clients (non-profits, agency and private camps), some are brand new ideas that camps are trying out this year.
Social Media Marketing Your Summer Camp - what works right nowTravis Allison
Online Marketing changes FAST. Come discover a new strategy for social networking (and maybe new tools) your summer camp.
We will be looking at the classics as well as Musical.ly, Periscope & SnapChat.

Since I can remember, I've been a girl obsessed with the water. I absolutely wanted to be a marine biologist when I was younger (who else can relate?) and, growing up on the east coast of Florida, had plenty of access to the ocean. Fishing, kayaking, canoeing...these were all a part of my upbringing. I still have a love for it...but lack equipment.
Canyon Creek Summer Camp offers a wide variety of daily summer camp activities aimed to meet the needs of every individual camper. Campers leave summer camp with a sense of empowerment, self-awareness, and confidence that can only be found here at California’s top summer camp – Canyon Creek Summer Camp!

CAMP KNICKERBOCKER LEADERS AND COUNSELORS IN TRAINING
LEADERS IN TRAINING (LIT) FOR GRADES 6-7
COUNSELORS IN TRAINING (CIT) FOR GRADE 8
We offer Teen Leadership opportunities at Camp Knickerbocker in our Teen Leadership Programs (LIT and CIT), we
develop leadership skills that young people can use throughout their lives to help others and themselves in
identifying and achieving goals. In addition, in our Counselors in Training (CIT) program, we help young people learn
how to effectively lead campers and gain experience and knowledge in youth development.
There are four components to our skill-based, leadership training process:
We help young people figure out what good leaders do and say by our mentoring program.
We give them lots of opportunities to practice doing and saying these things.
We build team building skills by group activities led by our Senior Adventure staff.
We make it fun!!
The program emphasizes professional etiquette, working within a hierarchy, and working with peers. The transition
from LIT to CIT should emphasize moving from personal development to using the skills they have learned at camp to
help guide the next generation of campers.
Teens will develop and practice skills that make a great leader. In addition, this program also provides a fun
environment for teens to learn about serious issues, such as risk management, group facilitation responsibilities,
basic childcare, and learning to meet the needs of children in a camp setting.
Do you have what it takes to be a future camp counselor? Come find out! All CIT/LIT campers will have the
opportunity to work with groups of kids during the summer to improve their counseling skills in addition to enjoying
activities and times provided away from the camper groups.
SUMMER FEES: CIT’S (GRADE 8) FREE LIT’S (GRADES 6-7) $550
