SmartAirCon is a new IoT product strategy for Mobile Operators and MVNOs in the Asia region.
There is no doubt the hottest topic being debated in climate policy in 2017 is how the US Government had decided to leave the Paris Climate Accord - COP21 and what form of sustainable energy and technology innovations could really help various city administrators to reduce the use of electricity and to reduce the overall carbon footprint. At the 2016 GSMA Global Device Summit - MWCS16, our company’s Mr. Daniel Chun had presented how mobile operators and MVNOs could extend their market reach in controlling the home electronics and be involved in air conditioning around the world by way of introducing a new form of Smart IoT device that could enhance the user experience in monitoring and controlling the air-conditioners in homes and offices; and benefit from a new disruptive business model to reduce churn and to increase ARPU.

Only few organizations wise up to new digital competitors, as they usually come from outside their own sector and are not taken seriously at first. Their allegedly inferior propositions confuse prominent players, who should in fact be the very first to be fully aware of potentially disruptive innovation.
To swing into action rapidly, existing organizations would be well advised to properly analyze anything resembling digital competition. Evidently, there are clear patterns behind the startup success marking a new techno-economic reality. Ecosystems, APIs, and platforms characterize this New Normal where customers have more freedom of choice and better service at lower costs.
These successful disruptors are called two-sided market players, also known as multi-sided platform players. Companies like Uber and Airbnb are getting all the media attention, however there are over 9000 players (and counting) active in almost every industry.
The new VINT report explores the new digital competition and presents:
A analysis of the success factors of disruption
10 design principles of the new digital competition like Unbundle your organization processes, APIs first. Access over ownership and Building trust with social systems
The need for every business to develop a API-strategy
An appeal to the CIO and the IT department to use a leading digital approach and map out an offensive technological route.
Cloud computing has clearly become a driving force in the information technology world. Over 90% of global enterprises report using cloud as part of their business. With over $33 billion in projected 2015 spend, cloud is now the largest category in IT infrastructure budgets.
But every industry has its unique technology dynamics. Therefore, to understand the future of cloud computing you need to understand its dynamics in key industries.
In this report, we will first present some brief observations on the role of cloud across these verticals. The focus will be on the pace of cloud adoption and its subsequent impact on key sectors within each industry.
In addition, our research showed that manufacturing plays a special role in global development—and so the report will take a deeper dive into that unique sector. In doing so, the report will highlight digital trends that have a broader impact as cloud moves from the digital to the “cyber-physical”.

Our research with the MIT Sloan Management Review reveals that only 16% of organizations are leveraging digital technologies to develop new business models. Most organizations follow traditional approaches to innovation that focus on new products and services, rather than on business models. However, research suggests that the returns from traditional approaches have been diminishing with time. As Serguei Netessine, Professor at INSEAD Singapore says, “Pharmaceutical companies spend as much as 30% of their revenues on R&D, trying to develop new products or technologies. But the return from this enormous expenditure has been very elusive and it is a common problem across industries.” Business model reinvention can be as good a route as technology, product or service innovations. Contents of Memorandum of Association:
Name Clause: This clause states the name of the company, which should end with words like "Limited" or "Ltd." for a public limited company and "Private Limited" or "Pvt. Ltd." for a private limited company.

Registered Office Clause: It specifies the location where the company's registered office is situated. This office is where all official communications and notices are sent.
Objective Clause: This clause delineates the main objectives for which the company is formed. It's important to define these objectives clearly, as the company cannot undertake activities beyond those mentioned in this clause.

On behalf of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council
(HKTDC), welcome to the Symposium on Innovation &
Technology at the HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair
(Autumn Edition). Under the theme “Power of IoT and
Emerging Technologies”, the Symposium welcomes business
leaders to share their insights on the latest developments in
the industry.
The Electronics Fair and concurrent electronicAsia form the
world’s largest electronics marketplace, hosting more than
4,100 exhibitors from 29 countries and regions. This is the
perfect platform for networking and intelligence sharing with
a view to harnessing the power of today’s rapid technological
advancements.
The Symposium is jointly organised by the HKTDC and Hong

major highlight this year to analyse the implications and
opportunities arising from emerging technology and IoT.
A constant stream of innovation is re-shaping the way we
live, work and communicate with each other. Companies
engaged in virtually all industries have to re-think the way
they do business to keep up with consumer demand and
move up the value chain while paying close attention to their
environmental footprint and, ultimately, their balance sheets.
To reveal the latest trends of emerging technology and IoT
development, we are delighted to welcome elite speakers
from global brands such as Tesla, Amazon Web Services,
Euromonitor, Hewlett Packard and Qualcomm.
I would also like to thank our distinguished panel members
for joining the Symposium to share their experience and
success with the audience. Governments around the world
are also aware of the need to provide the right conditions for
new ideas to take root and to attract investment and talent
from around the globe to help drive economic growth.
Finally, I would like to pay tribute to our supporting
organisations and sponsors who, through their vision and
commitment, have helped make this Symposium possible.
I wish you all a fruitful day and an enjoyable stay in Hong

Abstract
Connected devices are all around us, from tiny sensors on
Arduinos and Raspberry Pi’s, to TV’s, thermostats or even
wind turbines. They collect and transmit a large amount of
valuable information which, if processed and analyzed, can
capture exceptions, generate alerts, drive recommendations,
and make real-time operational decisions. But why does
connecting physical devices to the cloud create more
value for end users? How can connectivity enhance user
experience? And why does connecting your things enhance
your business model? In this session, Olivier Klein, Senior
Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services, will discuss the
power of connecting devices to the cloud and share Amazon’s
vision, latest products and features. We will dive into real
IoT use cases around logistics, entertainment, mobility and
healthcare and furthermore showcase how devices like the
Amazon Echo, can create broad ecosystems for a smarter and
connected world.
Abstract
The talk will focus on the application of innovative nano
materials in the development of commercial products.
Nano materials are in various shapes and forms, and most
importantly, have unique properties that can be harnessed
and turned into differentiated features in wide ranges of
products.
One common research approach NAMI utilizes is to develop
a material based technology platform and functionalize the
material in specific ways to develop differentiated products in
various markets. We will present examples of these platform
technologies based on nano materials, that can create
innovative products not only in electronics and appliances,
but also in areas such as healthcare, air and water purification
as well as construction materials that all contribute to the
concept of a Smart City.

Abstract
IOT technology has totally disrupted and
dominated our lives; it seems that nobody
can live without their “digital organ” –
the mobile phone. Many new disrupting
opportunities in the Consumer sector will
continue to be dominated mainly by big
players such as Google, Facebook, Apple,
Wechat, Alibaba, etc. Despite the huge
potential business opportunities in the
Consumer Sector, it is becoming more and
more difficult for new startups and SMEs
to make any significant impact in this
sector without the huge funding needed
to make it scalable and sustainable in a
long term.
Abstract
IoT has begun and will continue to
transform every aspect of our lives – as our
everyday become increasingly immersed
in networks of things that are more
seamlessly connected and more intuitive
than ever before. The realization of this
vision hinges on a healthy development
of the IoT ecosystem – particularly on
the commercialization of interoperable
products and associated services up and
down the value chain. It is here that
technology providers can help accelerate
progress and reduce fragmentation by
offering to device makers application-
specific platforms that combine essential
connectivity and intelligence elements
with specific features that meet the needs
of distinct verticals. Consequently, this
reduces the development time and cost
for the device makers, enabling them
to deliver products and services with
the right set of capabilities. In addition,
technology providers will be key in
driving horizontal efforts to encourage
interoperability across the industry as
well as develop vertical relationships to
strengthen the entire value chain, from
the supply chain, to device makers, to
service providers.
However, new opportunities in the
Enterprise and Industrial sectors are
frequently overlooked. According to
survey figures, each of these sectors has a
higher growth than the Consumer sector.
One of the challenges is to be industry
focused and leveraged the existing
IOT success of the Consumer sector to
extend the value into the Enterprise and
Industrial sectors by identifying the pain
points of each vertical industry and offer
them innovative IOT solutions as “pain
killers”to their business problems.
Megasoft Limited managed to disrupt
the Enterprise sector by offering their
innovative IOT solutions in the Jewelry
& Watches, Cold Chain Logistics and
Healthcare industries. With over 80
patents in IOT technology, Megasoft
Limited is sharing their success and
experience as a home grown Hong Kong
company to disrupt the Enterprise sector
globally.

After marveling at Michelangelo’s statue of David, the Pope
asked Michelangelo,“How do you know what to cut away?”
Michelangelo replied, “It’s simple. I just remove everything
that doesn’t look like David.”
Same applies, if we ever want to be successful in IoT, “It’s
simple. we just need to remove everything that doesn’t
look like IoT.” With the enormous markets out there, it is
hard to ignore this golden opportunity. IoT is more than tiny
sensor with network capability. It is an ecosystem consists
of IoT Devices, M2M, network infrastructure, data storage
and machine intelligence. With the size of the markets and
complexity, no single player will able to dominate this market.
HKETA aims to provide a platform for opportunity seekers
from Industry, Academia and R&D centers. We believe
opportunities will arise through collaboration and trust
building. Through symposium, forums, exhibitions, technical
visits, networking events, participants could meet people
beyond their normal network and exchange ideas.
Symposium on Innovation and Technology brought together
key industries across the world. Introducing and exploring
the latest innovation within IoT and emerging technologies.
We believe that it will leave good memories in everyone of
our hearts. And I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude
