He currently serves as the founder and CEO of Headache 13 Foundation, which promotes holistic success for youth through basketball-oriented programs. Through starting a Boys Club, he decreased the school's suspension rate by 12%.

Growing up in New York City, Tim Gittens faced crippling hardships that could have made him
another statistic especially as a minority youth from the inner city. However, Gittens broke the cycle
and excelled despite numerous setbacks…using basketball as a vehicle to conquer.
While working as a teacher, trainer, coach, camp facilitator, and motivational speaker; Gittens
noticed some national issues with today’s youth and he decided to do his part to create a solution and
positive/life-changing results…he founded a nonprofit, Headache13 Foundation.
