The document lists over 50 presentations given between 2015-2016 on topics related to shale energy development. The presentations covered implications for workforce, regulations, economics, technology, and lessons learned from development in the United States and other countries. They were delivered to organizations and groups in locations across North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
This document discusses dissolved gases in transformer insulation fluids. It explains that insulation fluid inside transformers breaks down over time, generating gases that can indicate electrical faults. The types and amounts of gases produced correspond to the severity of the fault. Common fault gases are identified. The document also discusses how vacuum distillation can be used to remove dissolved gases and moisture from insulation fluids in a cost-effective manner, noting that lower vacuum levels than typically specified are sufficient given the low boiling points of fault gases. This could enable significant cost savings for purification systems.

The title sequence of the film Spectre establishes several important elements through a series of scenes. It first shows a ring with an octopus logo, hinting that an octopus or octopus-like creature will be central to the plot. It then depicts the main hero surrounded by nude women, playing into stereotypes of female roles. Subsequent scenes feature a tentacle-wrapped woman, suggesting she may be the main female character who is suppressed. The sequence ends by revealing an octopus-like figure with a skull face, representing the main enemy in charge of an octopus cult that holds power over others.

This document is a zine titled "Truth or Consequences" by Rachel Lee about healing. It discusses the author's journey of healing, which began in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico where she learned herbalism. The zine contains poems and passages about healing, power, magic, and summoning ancestral wisdom. It also includes an interview with herbalist Caty Crabb about bioregional herbalism, cultivation practices, and integrating herbal medicine with mainstream healthcare.
The document summarizes a coalescer-separator filter system that removes water from oil emulsions. It discusses:
1) How coalescers use fibers to accelerate the merging of small water droplets in oil into larger droplets, allowing the water to be separated out more quickly.
2) The three step coalescing process - collection on fibers, collision and merging of droplets, then separation in the bottom of the vessel.
3) Design considerations for coalescer elements like fiber material and flow velocity to promote droplet merging without breakup.
4) How separator elements then repel the coalesced water droplets to fully separate water from treated oil.

The document provides guidance on writing a literary essay, including its purpose, main principles, and elements. It explains that a literary essay analyzes and evaluates a literary work by breaking it down into parts and developing a central thesis. Each essay must have an introduction with a clear thesis, body paragraphs with evidence that support the thesis, and a conclusion. The document outlines the key components of a successful literary essay such as a descriptive title, introduction of the problem/question, thesis, evidence, topic sentences, analysis, and conclusion.

Identity Verification System Based on Gait RecognitionMingyang Zheng
This document outlines an identity verification system based on gait recognition. It discusses (1) the source of inspiration for gait biometrics, (2) an introduction to the system framework including hardware and software components, and (3) the scheme for realizing the system with hardware and software platforms. Key features of the system include using biological gait characteristics for certification, active identification technology, and high security since gait is difficult to imitate or copy compared to other biometrics like fingerprints. A demonstration of the system involves setting up a database, granting access to certified users, and rejecting uncertified users.

Cellulose is a natural polymer made of glucose units that forms plant cell walls. It can adsorb large amounts of polar compounds due to hydroxyl groups on its surface. When compressed into fibers, cellulose rapidly swells in water but much less so in non-polar liquids like oil. This property makes it effective at removing water from fuels. Activated carbonized cellulose fibers have even greater surface area and adsorption capacity. Allen produces cartridge filters containing compressed cellulose fibers that can remove varnish, sludge, acids, and moisture from lubrication oils through adsorption onto the fiber surfaces.
